The official trailer for Spider-Man: Brand New Day is here, and it’s quite different from the early version that appeared online. The trailer reveals the movie will focus on the emotional toll being Spider-Man has taken on Peter Parker. After the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home, he had to make everyone forget his identity, meaning he’s facing these challenges completely on his own. The trailer includes striking visuals, like a shot from inside Spider-Man’s mask focusing on his eyes – a technique previously used to show Tony Stark’s face within his Iron Man helmet, emphasizing Peter’s anxiety.
Daniel Anton Fernandez, a VFX supervisor for environments who recently received a VES Award, shared some images from the trailer and explained that his team created almost all of the city scenes you see. He thanked fans for their positive feedback. When a fan asked about differences between the trailer and a previously leaked version, Fernandez explained that very little from the leak was usable. The shots in the new trailer were largely rebuilt from the beginning, as many details had changed since the initial leak.
Here’s a peek at some of the work my team and I did for the Brand New Day trailer! We did almost all of the city shots you see. Thanks for the awesome feedback on our work – we’re working incredibly hard to make this Spider-Man film look amazing! #SpidermanUnNuevoDía #spiderman #vfx

Spider-Man: Brand New Day Underwent Major Visual Changes

Daniel Anton Fernandez shared a trailer for Spider-Man: Brand New Day on X (formerly Twitter), and as anticipated, some fans weren’t impressed. Many criticized specific shots in the trailer. Fernandez responded to the feedback, explaining that it was just a preview and that the team was still working hard to polish the final movie. He even handled negative comments with grace – when one user called him inexperienced for a lighting technique, Fernandez explained it was a quick turnaround for the trailer and promised the final film would be fantastic.
The initial trailer for Spider-Man: Brand New Day offered a glimpse of what fans were hoping for, while still keeping some surprises under wraps. A major focus was on the Punisher, who both battles and tries to advise Spider-Man, even telling Peter to get his act together. We also saw Peter Parker consulting Bruce Banner about changes to his DNA, though the Hulk himself wasn’t shown. The trailer featured appearances by classic villains like Scorpion, Boomerang, and Tarantula. Finally, it showed Spider-Man fighting members of The Hand, and a scene of Peter emerging from webbing, potentially teasing the arrival of Man-Spider.
The trailer offered a glimpse of a film that embraces the comic book tradition of making Peter Parker’s life incredibly difficult. We see Peter at a potential low point, even as Spider-Man continues to perform heroically. Key moments, like Hulk’s outburst (potentially connected to those controlling the police) and the introduction of Sadie Sink’s enigmatic character (rumored to be Jean Grey), hinted at what’s to come. As Daniel Anton Fernandez noted, this Spider-Man: Brand New Day trailer successfully piqued interest, suggesting the most exciting parts are still ahead.
