James Gunn’s new film, Man of Tomorrow, will hit theaters on July 9, 2027. It’s the next installment in the ‘Super Family Saga’ from DC Studios, continuing the story after Gunn’s successful Superman movie.
With David Corenswet as Superman, Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor, and Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, this new movie delivers a thrilling superhero story. The plot involves an unlikely alliance between Superman and his enemy Lex Luthor when they must join forces to face an even bigger danger, portrayed by Lars Eidinger as the villain Brainiac.
Several actors from the original movie are back for this installment, including Frank Grillo, Skyler Gisondo, Wendell Pierce, Mikaela Hoover, and Isabel Merced.
As of today, official trailers and promotional images haven’t been released yet. However, James Gunn has shared initial artwork on social media showing Superman and Lex Luthor.

What is Man of Tomorrow about?
In the upcoming story, “Man of Tomorrow,” Superman and his longtime enemy Lex Luthor will team up to fight a powerful new villain: Brainiac, an alien robot. The story will explore Lex Luthor’s character as much as Superman’s, and Luthor will be seen wearing his famous battlesuit, just like in the comic books.
This movie picks up where the new DC Universe storyline left off. We can expect to see characters we know from the Daily Planet and the Justice League again, and there’s a good chance Supergirl will make an appearance too.
