Regular Show Revival Confirms It’s Going to Be Sticking Around for a While

Nine years after it originally ended, Regular Show is returning to Cartoon Network with a brand new series! The revival is confirmed to have a significant number of episodes, meaning it will be on air for quite some time. Regular Show was a standout show for Cartoon Network, becoming a real pop culture phenomenon. It was known for both its fun, self-contained episodes and its ability to tell a complete, satisfying story over its entire run, something the network clearly appreciated.

The highly anticipated revival of Regular Show, titled Regular Show: The Lost Tapes, is coming to Cartoon Network this spring from the show’s original creator, J.G. Quintel. Reports confirm the series will consist of 44 episodes, though the release schedule hasn’t been announced yet. This means fans can expect a substantial continuation of the beloved franchise.

Regular Show Revival Confirms Cartoon Network Release Date

The new series, Regular Show: The Lost Tapes, will premiere on Cartoon Network in the US and around the world on May 11th with a special half-hour episode. Fans in the United States will also be able to watch it later this year on Hulu and HBO Max. The series will have 44 episodes and is being produced by Cartoon Network Studios, with J.G. Quintel, Sean Szeles, and Sam Register as executive producers. Toby Jones is the supervising director, Paula Spence is the supervising art director, and Ryan Slater is the producer.

The new series, Regular Show: The Lost Tapes, will bring back the original voice actors, including J.G. Quintel, William Salyers, Sam Marin, Mark Hamill, Minty Lewis, and Janie Haddad Tompkins. Quintel shared his excitement about the revival, saying it’s been a blast working with the team again and that they’re focused on creating something funny and enjoyable, just like the original Regular Show. He’s eager for fans to see the new episodes.

What Is Regular Show’s New Revival About?

Fans and the creators of Regular Show worried the revival might undo the original finale, but that doesn’t appear to be happening. The new series seems to be focusing on previously unseen adventures from Mordecai and Rigby’s time at the park, and that’s what Cartoon Network is hinting at as well. Vanessa Brookman, a General Manager at Warner Bros. Discovery, shared more about the show.

According to Brookman, Regular Show: The Lost Tapes both celebrates the original series and offers something new. They’re thrilled to bring back Mordecai, Rigby, and the crew for both longtime fans and a new audience. It sounds like these new episodes will capture the same spirit as the original, and we can expect to see them this Spring.
