Jon Bernthal is returning as the Punisher in a new TV special coming to Disney+ soon, and we now have a confirmed release date!
The special, entitled The Punisher: One Last Kill, will air on Tuesday 12 May on Disney+.
The Punisher, a Marvel series that began in 2017, told the story of Frank Castle. Played by Jon Bernthal, Castle was a former Marine who became a vigilante after appearing in the Netflix series Daredevil. He dedicated himself to a relentless, solo fight against crime.

Following the tragic deaths of his wife and children, Frank transforms into The Punisher, a vigilante who relentlessly hunts down criminals he feels have escaped justice through the legal system.
Jon Bernthal collaborated on the screenplay for this special with Reinaldo Marcus Green, an Academy Award nominee, who also directed it.
Jon Bernthal returned as The Punisher in 2023 for the Disney+ series Daredevil: Born Again, starring Charlie Cox. He’s also set to appear in the upcoming Marvel movie Spider-Man: Brand New Day, scheduled for release later this year.
The second season of Daredevil: Born Again premiered today, with new episodes releasing every week for a total of eight. The season will end with a special event, airing on the same day as the premiere of The Punisher: One Last Kill.
Daredevil: Born Again stars Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock, a lawyer who fights crime as a blind superhero. Vincent D’Onofrio returns as the villainous Wilson Fisk, also known as Kingpin, and Jon Bernthal will reprise his role as the Punisher.
Deborah Ann Woll reprises her role as Karen Page, with Elden Henson returning as Foggy Nelson. Ayelet Zurer is back as Vanessa Fisk, and Wilson Bethel returns as Benjamin Poindexter, also known as Bullseye.
Beyond his work in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Jon Bernthal is well-known for his early role as Shane Walsh in the first two seasons of The Walking Dead. More recently, he’s gained acclaim for playing Mikey Berzatto in the Hulu series The Bear, which helped make Jeremy Allen White a star.
