From now until April 6th, Steam is offering two PC games at no cost. You’ll have about 72 hours to add each game to your library for free. One is a very popular title usually priced at $24.99, and the other is a smaller game that normally costs $5. Together, these games represent a $30 value. This is the first time either game has been given away for free on Steam, and there’s no telling if they’ll be free again.
Steam is currently offering two games for free. The first is House Flipper, a popular simulation game from 2018. While a sequel was released in 2023, only the original is free right now, and it actually has better reviews. It boasts a “Very Positive” rating with 94% approval based on over 45,000 user reviews – the second-highest rating possible on Steam. The other free game is Depths of Horror: Mushroom Day, a first-person horror adventure released in 2021. It has a 74% approval rating. House Flipper is confirmed to work well with the Steam Deck, but Valve hasn’t tested Depths of Horror: Mushroom Day on the Steam Deck, so its compatibility is uncertain.
Popular 2018 Steam Game
Released in 2018, before many similar games existed, House Flipper stood out as a fresh idea and was well-received. The game focuses on buying rundown houses, fixing them up, and then selling them for a profit. You essentially play as a solo renovation worker, and the core gameplay revolves around the process of remodeling.
2021 Horror Game
Depths of Horror: Mushroom Day is a low-budget horror game that isn’t top-tier, but it can still deliver a few quick scares. The story begins when you find a strange cave while mushroom hunting, and it quickly becomes clear this is no ordinary cavern.
If you add these two PC games to your Steam Library now, you’ll own them forever. But you need to claim them by April 6th at 1:00 p.m. Eastern Time, or they’ll go back to their regular price.
