While the first Hogwarts Legacy game remains popular after three years, fans are looking for other magical RPGs to play. Unfortunately, Witchbrook, another promising title, has already been delayed. Luckily, a new independent RPG might be just what players are looking for.
Eastshade Studios first announced their new magical RPG, Songs of Glimmerwick, four years ago. Considering the positive reception of their debut game, Eastshade (released in 2019), it’s expected to be well worth the wait. Recently, the studio shared a new gameplay trailer, and the game appears to be a charming, music-filled adventure that fans of Hogwarts Legacy will likely enjoy.

Songs of Glimmerwick is a new role-playing game set in a magical academy where you cast spells by playing music. You’ll explore a gorgeous open world, attend classes, make friends with students and townspeople, and even help tend the university’s garden. The game focuses on a compelling story told through quests, and instead of wands, you’ll use music to perform magic. What really makes Songs of Glimmerwick special is its fully voiced cast of characters, bringing the world to life with detailed audio.
Like most role-playing games, Songs of Glimmerwick lets you create a unique character, customizing everything from their appearance to their abilities as they grow stronger. Beyond attending classes, you’ll also enjoy activities around the island – whether it’s fishing, exploring the woods, or just living a little.
