While the heroes in both stories are also highly skilled, they initially appear outmatched when facing these villains in their final showdowns. Through intense training and determination, however, the heroes overcome the odds and ultimately win.

Like the movie Bloodsport, the series Bloodhounds keeps you on the edge of your seat with a constant stream of intense competitions. It doesn’t shy away from brutal violence, which makes the fight scenes even more gripping. Both stories also feature characters motivated by revenge and a desire to protect their families, making them easy to connect with.

Both Bloodsport and Bloodhounds have action sequences that are sometimes exaggerated, but this actually makes them more enjoyable. Given how similar the two are, Bloodhounds is a great choice for anyone who likes Bloodsport.

Bloodsport Is Also Surprisingly Getting A New Remake

Fans of the original will be interested to learn that Bloodsport is getting a fresh start. A24 is backing the reboot, with Michaela Coel writing and directing. While details about who will star are still unknown, the new film is expected to be a more serious take on the story, focusing on the mental and emotional challenges faced by the fighters rather than the over-the-top action of the original.

On paper, the remake sounds like an intriguing follow-up to the original Bloodsport.

Given Hollywood’s track record with remakes of action films, it’s tough to get excited about this one. But even if the movie doesn’t deliver, action fans can always revisit a classic Jean-Claude Van Damme film or watch Bloodhounds on Netflix for realistic and intense combat sports action.
