Selena Gomez, Demi Lovato Reunite for First Time in Nearly 10 Years

You’re gonna want to give your heart a break after seeing this.

Selena Gomez and Demi Lovato were seen together publicly for the first time in nearly a decade. Gomez attended the opening night of Lovato’s ‘It’s Not That Deep’ tour in Orlando, Florida on April 13th.

Selena posted photos and a video from the concert on her Instagram Story, giving a shout-out to her former co-star from Princess Protection Program. The video showed her dancing while wearing merchandise from the artist.

She posted a picture of Demi and wrote that she was crying because the show was incredible. She was especially impressed with the singing, saying it was amazing.

Selena enjoyed the concert from a VIP area and also got to see a former Disney Channel co-star backstage. She shared a photo of them hugging and smiling, and added a heart emoji to the picture.

Demi also reposted the photo to her Story, adding, “Thank you so much for coming!!! Loved seeing you.”

The recent reunion of Demi and Selena was a heartwarming moment for many who grew up in the late 90s and early 2000s (often called Zillennials). It was the first time they’ve been seen together publicly since a photoshoot for InStyle magazine in 2017. Although they remained friendly, their relationship had drifted over the past decade.

Although people speculated about a serious falling out, Demi and Selena have shown there was no lasting bad blood between them. Demi recently shared how grateful she is for their long friendship, recalling their time working together as kids on the show Barney & Friends in the early 2000s.

Demi explained on the March 3rd episode of the Baby, This is Keke Palmer podcast that she and Selena Gomez were friends before their time on Disney Channel—they actually appeared on Barney together. Having that pre-existing friendship gave Demi a sense of comfort and security when she joined Disney Channel.

The 33-year-old, who worked with Selena on a children’s TV show for two seasons between 2002 and 2004, said they are very thankful for their ongoing friendship.

Selena celebrated the release of her album, I Said I Love You First, and her marriage to Benny Blanco with Demi in attendance to show her support. Demi herself married Jutes in May 2025.

She said she was thrilled for her, and just wants her to be happy, during an appearance on Watch What Happens Live in September.

She said she loved the album, calling it “really, really great.” She especially enjoyed the song ‘Bluest Flame,’ which she identified as her favorite.

As for Selena, she recently discussed the joy of her Disney cohort all succeeding in life.

Selena reminisced to Jake Shane on his podcast, Therapuss, about growing up with so many successful peers. She mentioned stars like the Jonas Brothers, Miley Cyrus, Demi Lovato, and Zendaya, saying it was amazing to watch everyone from her school achieve their dreams.

During a May 2024 appearance on the Everything Iconic with Danny Pellegrino podcast, she recounted telling Cameron, ‘I need you to run towards me from behind the luggage cart, towards the airport.’ She explained that she began directing Cameron, telling her exactly what to say while they were driving, and Cameron willingly complied. She described Cameron’s cooperation as incredibly generous.

It’s a good thing Lawrence was available to hang out, because we almost missed out on one of our favorite friendships! Their connection started when the Oscar-winning actress emailed Schumer after seeing her 2015 movie, Trainwreck. Lawrence later told The New York Times that she wrote, ‘I don’t know where to begin, but I have to say it: I’m in love with you.’ That email led to a back-and-forth exchange, eventually turning into text messages.

Their friendship really took off when Schumer casually invited Lawrence to join her and her high school friends for a trip to the Hamptons. Schumer was surprised when Lawrence accepted, but quickly realized Lawrence was just incredibly down-to-earth. As Schumer told The Daily Show, she’s “the coolest person you’ll ever meet” and fit right in with the group.

Everyone could use a friend who’s successful and well-established! Jennifer Lopez and Sofia Vergara have been incredibly close ever since they met and instantly connected at the premiere of Man on Fire in 2004. Lopez described it as an immediate, strong connection – someone who makes you laugh and enjoy being around.

Vergara was also enthusiastically cheering on Lopez when she performed at President Joe Biden’s inauguration. She messaged Lopez, reminding her of her Bronx roots and calling the performance truly inspiring and beautiful, as she shared with TopMob News.

Considered the ultimate celebrity friendship, Courteney Cox, Jennifer Aniston, and Lisa Kudrow have been close ever since they bonded while working on the Warner Brothers lot and starring in the hit show Friends. According to a source, experiencing such a significant part of their lives together created a lasting connection. Just like staying in touch with former colleagues, they prioritize regular get-togethers, from casual happy hours to larger reunions. The source notes that it’s easy for them to connect—whether it’s at Courteney’s Sunday dinners or Jennifer’s pool parties—and that they remain incredibly close and will continue to be.

Amy Poehler and Tina Fey have been incredibly close friends ever since they met in an improv class in 1993, and they often describe their relationship as sisterly. Drake and Adele, despite only recently considering a partnership, seem eager to work together. After years of admiring each other’s music – they’ve won 19 Grammy Awards combined – they started talking about a possible collaboration. Adele mentioned to etalk that she’d love to create an official remix with Drake, saying she’s a huge fan – she even bought the red coat he wore in his music video! Drake responded with equal enthusiasm, jokingly offering to do Adele’s laundry. Instead of immediately recording, they opted for a casual outing, enjoying a meal and a bowling game in Los Angeles. It seems a collaboration is definitely in the works – maybe they’ll give us a call when it’s ready!

After receiving great support from other women during her pregnancies, Washington has always made an effort to help her celebrity friends. She shared with Entertainment Tonight that she prioritizes open and honest conversations, especially with Eva Longoria. Longoria found Washington’s advice particularly helpful when she welcomed her son, Santiago, in 2018, jokingly referring to Washington as “basically my doula.”

After winning an Academy Award over two decades ago for Good Will Hunting, Matt Damon and Ben Affleck are collaborating again on the film The Last Duel. Despite not working together on screen for a while, their close friendship remains strong. Damon explained to Entertainment Tonight that they’ve known each other for 35 years and grew up together, sharing a mutual passion for acting and filmmaking. He believes this shared obsession during their younger years created a lifelong bond.

The friendship between two prominent television personalities began in 1976 while they worked at a Baltimore station. Although Oprah Winfrey was an anchor and Gayle King a production assistant, and they didn’t usually mix socially due to the workplace structure, a snowstorm brought them closer. Oprah invited Gayle, who earned $12,000 a year as a PA, to stay with her. The next day, they went shopping at the mall, and a lasting friendship began, sparked by a shared interest in sweaters at Casual Corner.

While your dates probably don’t involve watching a friend compete in major tennis tournaments or visiting a palace, Meghan Markle and the tennis star’s connection started just like many others—with casual conversation. Meghan wrote on her now-closed website, The Tig, that they “clicked right away” when they met at a 2014 Super Bowl event. They spent time taking pictures, laughing during a flag football game, and chatting about everyday things—not tennis or acting, but typical “girly stuff.”

Even though Game of Thrones is over, the close bond between Sophie Turner and Maisie Williams remains strong. Williams, who was a bridesmaid at Turner’s wedding to Joe Jonas in 2019, believes the most valuable outcome of the show’s eight seasons wasn’t its 12 Emmy awards. She playfully told TopMob News at the final premiere that the show felt like a long, complicated journey to find her best friend. “It’s been incredible,” she added, “and having a friend like Sophie during such a crazy time was a true blessing.”

Everyone’s heart probably melted when Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively reacted so joyfully to their oldest daughter, James, recognizing Taylor Swift’s song “Gorgeous” at a concert. Lively later jokingly called the video embarrassing, telling Robin Roberts on Good Morning America that it showed their “unfiltered, and maybe a little over-the-top, pride” as stage parents. But the genuine friendship between the families – marked by Fourth of July celebrations at Swift’s Rhode Island home, gatherings at Reynolds and Lively’s country house, and appearances in Swift’s music videos – is something special and should be cherished.

As a lifestyle expert, I always say it’s amazing how connections are made! Reese Witherspoon recently shared a sweet story about how she bonded with Jennifer Aniston way back when they worked together on an NBC show. Reese had just had her daughter, Ava, and was still nursing on set – can you imagine?! She remembers Jennifer being so curious and supportive, asking about the baby and where she was going to pump. Reese was a little embarrassed, but Jen was incredibly sweet, and that’s how their friendship started! It just goes to show, sometimes the most unexpected moments lead to the most lasting connections, and eventually, a hit show like The Morning Show! It’s a beautiful reminder that kindness and genuine curiosity can really build a bond.

Martha Stewart and Snoop Dogg have an unlikely but captivating friendship that began at the 2015 Comedy Central Roast of Justin Bieber. It blossomed into the VH1 cooking show, Martha & Snoop’s Potluck Dinner Party. Snoop Dogg explained to LA Weekly that Martha is different from people he’s usually around, but also surprisingly familiar. He appreciates that she’s genuine and relatable once you get to know her, despite coming from a different generation. He feels comfortable with her because she’s straightforward and doesn’t shock him, making their connection feel natural and almost like a perfect match – a ‘holy matrimony,’ not a ‘holy macaroni’.
