Alex Cooper and Alix Earle are both looking to call her out.
Rumors of a disagreement between the host of the Call Her Daddy podcast and a former contestant on Dancing With the Stars began in March 2025. This followed the removal of Alex Earle’s Hot Mess podcast from Cooper’s Unwell Network, despite Earle being one of the first creators to join the network when it launched in 2023.
Although Cooper, 31, stated in TikTok comments that Alix’s inability to continue podcasting wasn’t related to the show “Unwell,” Earle offered a somewhat different perspective.
The 25-year-old explained to WSJ Magazine in May that her departure was due to some complicated and messy issues happening internally.
The conflict between the two recently escalated when Earle shared a TikTok from April 9th that criticized Cooper, calling her an “ambulance chaser” and “grim reaper” because of the difficult experiences celebrities discuss on her podcast. Cooper responded with her own feelings about the repost.
In a TikTok posted on April 13th, Cooper publicly called out Alix Earle, saying, “I need you to be direct and tell me what you have to say about me. There’s nothing stopping you – no agreements preventing you from speaking out. Stop hinting at things and just say it yourself.” He was referring to Earle’s habit of subtly addressing issues through reposts, likes, and comments on other people’s posts.
She asked what the problem was, explaining she was fed up with him creating drama to avoid dealing with other issues he was facing online. She stated she wasn’t interested in the conflict and that both of them knew exactly what had happened.

Cooper added, “I have nothing to hide when it comes to you and me.”
Earle was quick to respond, writing in the comments under Cooper’s video, “Okay on it!!”
The influencer shared a TikTok on April 14th explaining that friends woke her up the day after Coachella to show her the video.
She was truly amused by what Cooper said, and laughed, commenting that the video had completely brightened her day.

Alex Cooper, the host of the Call Her Daddy podcast, has started a new media company called The Unwell Network. One of the first creators signed to the network is TikTok star Alix Earle, who will be working with them to create content for various platforms.
Alix quickly became popular in the U.S. thanks to her ‘get ready with me’ videos, relatable college life content, and charming personality,” Cooper explained in a statement. “I’m excited to share what I’ve learned and help the next generation of creators succeed.”
Earle’s Hot Mess podcast premiered the following month.

After her three-year agreement with Spotify finished, Cooper signed a new deal with SiriusXM, reportedly worth $125 million. This move brings her podcast network, The Unwell Network—which includes Call Her Daddy and Cooper’s Hot Mess podcast—to the satellite radio platform.

Soon after Earle missed a Super Bowl party hosted by Unwell in New Orleans – even though she was in the city for the game – it was announced that her podcast, Hot Mess, was no longer with the company.
SiriusXM also gave up its rights to the show and stopped running advertisements for it.

Earle suggested there might be issues leading to her decision to stop recording the Unwell podcast, stating she’s taking an indefinite break from podcasting.
She explained in a TikTok on March 26th that she didn’t want to share specifics at the moment, but she was very proud of everything she had accomplished with her podcast and loved the experience.
Cooper immediately dismissed rumors that Earle’s break from podcasting was related to Unwell, clarifying that Earle still owned the rights to Hot Mess after their separation.
Cooper posted on Instagram that they didn’t understand why she was struggling or what was happening, adding that ‘Unwell’ had returned all of her intellectual property.

Earle remained vague about the circumstances surrounding her departure from Unwell, hinting in a May 2025 interview with WSJ. Magazine that it was “a bit chaotic” behind the scenes.
In August 2025, a TikTok user asked Callie Earle about her relationship with Alex Cooper. Earle responded with a mysterious message: “How much time do you have?”

Cooper criticized Earle for making indirect, negative comments about her on social media. In a TikTok video, Cooper directly challenged Earle to openly share any issues she had, stating that there were no restrictions preventing her from doing so.
What’s going on with this conflict? I’m really frustrated with constantly seeing you create drama to take attention away from your own issues online,” Cooper said. “Just tell me what’s happening, because unless this made-up story is more exciting than the truth, I have nothing to hide between you and me.
In response, Earle simply commented, “Okay on it!!”

Brianna LaPaglia, known as “Chickenfry,” previously collaborated with Dave Portnoy, her former boss at Barstool Sports, on the BFFs podcast. She publicly backed Earle after their disagreement became known.
She said in a TikTok video that she used to admire Alex Cooper, but now she’s seen a different side of her – a side that involves how Cooper treats others, and it’s not good.
LaPaglia claimed she first heard about the drama surrounding the “Hot Mess” podcast two years ago. She said that Alix Earle told her Alex Cooper is a very unkind person.

Cooper responded to accusations from Anthony LaPaglia, who called her a “mean girl.” In an Instagram Story, Cooper explained that she’s never actually met LaPaglia and their only interaction has been through direct messages.
To support her claims, the founder of Unwell shared screenshots of what they said were private messages exchanged over time. These messages showed a history of friendly communication, including sharing phone numbers and invitations to events.
“What I just showed is the only interaction we’ve ever had. And you hate me?” Cooper added. “That has never been the nature of our relationship.”
