Emmerdale airs heartbreaking Moira Dingle scenes as she makes sad discovery following prison release in early ITVX release

Natalie J. Robb, who plays Moira Dingle, hasn’t had an easy time since coming back to Emmerdale after being released from prison.

Robert Sugden, played by Ryan Hawley, hid passports belonging to people who were being exploited in her home. This led to her being wrongly accused and imprisoned for months on charges of murder and human trafficking. She was manipulated into doing this by Joe Tate (Ned Porteous), who was threatening Robert’s sister, Vic (Isabel Hodgins), to force her to give up her ownership stake in Moira’s farm, Butler’s Farm.

As the audience witnessed, the cruel Celia Daniels (Jaye Griffiths) was holding several defenseless individuals prisoner in the attic of her farm.

The workers, including Bear Wolf (Paddy Dingle’s father), were made to live in terrible conditions while putting in long hours, and they were frequently mistreated by Ray Walters, Celia’s son.

Moira was willing to admit guilt to get a lighter sentence, which deeply troubled Robert, who was determined to find proof of her innocence. He learned from Bear that some car registration plates had mysteriously disappeared, and these plates might be the key to helping Moira.

I was so relieved when Kammy Hadiq – a really helpful contact of Shebz Miah’s – managed to trace the license plates to a storage unit in Hotten and gave the information to the police. Detective Sergeant Walsh, Amanda Ryan, did caution us that it’ll likely take a while for them to process everything, and she suggested we get in touch with Moira’s lawyer as well.

Cain received good news on today’s episode: Moira is returning home, as all charges against her have been dismissed.

The Dingles were thrilled at the thought of her coming back to Wishing Well, but they knew things weren’t the same as when she left. Since she’d been away, she’d sold Butler’s Farm, especially because Cain had been diagnosed with prostate cancer, and he was now starting a new farming project.

She felt a bit overwhelmed by all the attention from her extended family, so she went to visit Holly’s memorial tree to spend some quiet time remembering her.

Cain had some terrible news to share: Joe had intentionally destroyed the tree and removed the flowers and memorials, seemingly as an act of spite.

With tears in her eyes, Moira placed flowers on the remaining stump of the tree. Then, she went to what was once Butler’s Farm, now called Emmerdale Farm, hoping to find out what had become of her old house. She found it deserted, but Robert and Joe quickly arrived.

Before Sarah could reply to Joe’s harsh words, they smelled smoke coming from a barn. Luckily, Moira acted fast and put out the fire. Robert didn’t believe Joe when he said he hadn’t started it.

Will Moira look to seek revenge?

Emmerdale airs weeknights at 8pm on ITV1 and from 7am on ITVX.
