Shinigami Hime to Ishokan no Kaibutsu details base facility creatures

Nippon Ichi Software has shared fresh details and images for their upcoming adventure game, Shinigami Hime to Ishokan no Kaibutsu, revealing some of the facilities players will find in the game.

Get the details below.

■ Interacting with Monsters at the Base

The Ishokan reception center, where people with Shinigami Disease are cared for, is also home to a variety of monsters—and it’s Mono’s base of operations. These monsters live peaceful lives, but they’re happy to help you on your adventures if you become friends with them. Let’s meet three of the most unusual residents!

The Hat Shop: Rad Hatter

A Shinigami who looks like a mouse. Energetic and fashion-loving.

When you talk to him at the starting point, you can trade “Scraps of Paper”—which you find hidden in the picture book levels—for different outfits and accessories for Mono.

Add a bit of style to your adventure with your favorite accessories!

Map Shop: Owlin

This Shinigami appears as an owl and loves the excitement of exploring different worlds found within storybooks. They’re a unique and surprisingly well-informed being.

If you talk to him at the starting area, you can trade Scraps of Paper for helpful details about the picture book worlds or for stamps you can use to mark locations on your map.

Need a little help in the game? Owlin can give you hints if you’re stuck, lost, or just want to move forward more quickly.

Hint Shop: Voicecat

This Shinigami, or death god, has the appearance of a cat. Its tail, shaped like a mouse, seems to move independently, but the two are clearly close and friendly with each other.

If you talk to the person at the base, you can trade Scraps of Paper for details on any Shinigami you’ve already met. You can find all this information in the “Shinigami Encyclopedia” at Voicecat’s place – it includes helpful weaknesses and even how they react when eaten! Make sure to check with Voicecat whenever you encounter a new Shinigami.

Beyond these main characters, the game includes several interesting ones, like Shinigami who offer special features. One lets you revisit story moments and listen to music in a “Gallery,” while another reveals Mono’s backstory. Getting to know these Shinigami will help you learn more about the game’s world.

If you offer them small gifts and become friendly, they might just reward you with something in return.

—You might even find hidden items within the Ishokan!

The game Shinigami Hime to Ishokan no Kaibutsu will be released in Japan on April 30th for PlayStation 5, the new Switch 2 console, and the original Switch. A demo version is available to play right now.
