Matt LeBlanc, best known for his role on Friends, is starring in a new show as a police officer who’s also an action hero.
CBS is developing a new police drama called “Flint.” Evan Katz, who previously ran the show “24,” is writing the series.
Variety reports that James LeBlanc will play a Los Angeles police detective nearing retirement who is frustrated when the city unexpectedly extends his service by another five years.
He tries to get fired by constantly breaking the rules and ignoring orders, but surprisingly, his rebellious behavior actually makes him a more effective police officer.
CBS is currently planning to release Flint sometime between 2027 and 2028, though the show is still being developed.

If approved, this new series would be a significant change for LeBlanc, as he’s primarily known for his work in comedic roles.
I remember when Friends was huge, and Matt LeBlanc really became a star as Joey. It was so cool to see him then get his own show, a spin-off just for his character! It was a natural progression, and I was definitely curious to see what happened next with Joey after Friends ended.
Joey followed the character as he tried to succeed in Hollywood after moving from New York City to Los Angeles, and aired from 2004 to 2006.

LeBlanc later appeared as a humorous version of himself in the BBC sitcom Episodes, and his performance won him a Golden Globe award for best actor in a comedy series in 2012.
His most recent TV show was Man With A Plan, a comedy about a dad who stays home to raise his kids. It ran for four seasons and finished in 2020.
He also worked as a presenter, hosting four seasons of the BBC’s Top Gear from 2016 to 2019.
On Flint, LeBlanc will also serve as executive producer behind the scenes.
