As of April 16th, 2026, filming has resumed on the upcoming Tomb Raider TV series from Amazon.
Production on the show was briefly paused when Sophie Turner, who plays Lara Croft, was hurt.
According to TMZ, the production has resumed now that Turner has recovered.
According to sources familiar with the situation, the recent brief pause didn’t cause any delays to the production timeline.
Good news all around, then — here’s hoping there are no more incidents and everyone stays safe.
Production on the upcoming live-action Tomb Raider TV series has been temporarily halted after Sophie Turner, the actress playing Lara Croft, was injured.
According to Deadline, the studio has stated that the injury is minor and filming has been temporarily paused while she recovers.
We’ve temporarily paused production so she can get some rest and recover. We hope to be back up and running soon.
Production will be temporarily halted for about two weeks. Details about the injury haven’t been released, and it’s unclear if it happened during filming.
Production has started on the Tomb Raider series. Phoebe Waller-Bridge is a writer, executive producer, and co-showrunner on the show, working alongside Chad Hodge.
Joining Turner in the cast are Sigourney Weaver, Jason Isaacs, Martin Bobb-Semple, and more.
Tomb Raider is making a strong comeback! In addition to a new TV series on Amazon, fans can look forward to not one, but two new Tomb Raider video games in the next couple of years.
Later this year, a remastered version of the original Tomb Raider, titled Legacy of Atlantis, will be released. Following that, in 2027, a completely new Tomb Raider adventure, called Catalyst, is planned.
Fans of Lara Croft have a lot to look forward to, but more than anything, we wish Turner a quick recovery so she can get back to performing stunts and battling dinosaurs.
