The horror shooter Industria 2, originally planned to launch yesterday, has been delayed. Developer Bleakmill and publisher Headup announced the game will now release on April 29th, explaining that their small team needed a bit more time to complete development.
The team expressed their disappointment in announcing a delay, explaining that the project began a decade ago, largely as a labor of love with developers contributing in their spare time. They thanked fans for their continued support and passion for the project, which they’ve been dedicated to for years.
The development team shared that completing the single-player campaign for their detailed first-person shooter with a small team of eight people has been challenging. They feel they’re achieving something special, and they’re thrilled by the positive feedback. Players and testers have told them the game reminds them of classic titles like Half-Life, Bioshock, and Resident Evil, which is incredibly rewarding and keeps them motivated.
It’s often really challenging for our small, globally distributed team to work effectively without getting exhausted or struggling to pay everyone fairly each month. It’s a tough situation – balancing our passion for the work with the practical need to cover expenses, something many creatives deal with.
To keep fans excited while they wait for Industria 2, the studio has released one of the game’s soundtrack songs, “Hint of Light.” The song was created by No Bloom Now and was featured in the game’s first teaser trailer.
Bleakmill acknowledged the delay might be frustrating, explaining they just need a bit more time to finalize things. They noted that for a small team, two weeks represents significant progress.
Industria 2 takes place two years after the first game. Players once again control Nora, who finds herself stranded in a strange parallel dimension surrounded by machine-built walls. She continues her quest to return to East Berlin in 1989, using an abandoned coastal chapel as her headquarters. During her exploration of this new dimension, Nora will also have to confront a dangerous AI named ATLAS.
The game received a story trailer in March 2025, showcasing its focus on intense horror and shooting action, similar to the previous installment. The trailer revealed gameplay centered around stealthily avoiding terrifying creatures within a crumbling building, with players relying on weapons like a shotgun. It also highlighted that carefully managing limited resources will be crucial, as the player in the trailer appeared cautious when engaging enemies.
Bleakmill has announced that their game, Industria 2, will emphasize a realistic and engaging experience thanks to its focus on physics-based interactions. Players will be able to craft items and manage their belongings through an inventory system that feels naturally integrated into the game world. Throughout the game, you’ll find five different weapons, all of which can be customized with various upgrades.
