Starfield PS5 Crash Patch Out Now, But It Only Partly Fixes PS5 Pro

Bethesda has made progress in addressing the frustrating crashes players were experiencing with Starfield on both the PlayStation 5 and the more powerful PS5 Pro.

Patch 1.000.003 is available to download now on Sony’s system, weighing in at 1.445GB.

Just a heads-up, this quick fix doesn’t solve every crash issue we’ve been seeing. It’s specifically aimed at fixing crashes that are happening on the PS5 Pro right now.

The developer announced a quick fix for Starfield players on PlayStation 5 Pro. This update addresses crashes that were happening when using the Enhanced settings.

It’s obvious the Pro had issues with its ‘Enhanced’ graphics setting, and we’re hoping that’s been fixed.

We’re not sure if this update will fix freezes you might be experiencing with different graphics settings.

Unfortunately, players experiencing crashes or trying to play Starfield on a regular PS5 are likely to be disappointed with this update.

Bethesda says they’re working on another update to fix crashes and freezes on PlayStation 5, and expect to release it next week. They appreciate all the reports they’ve received from players who contacted support, as that information has been very useful.

We’re still waiting for a fix, which isn’t great. Our testing shows crashes often happen when building outposts or customizing ships. These seem to be issues with the game’s menus or underlying systems, and we expect they’ll be addressed in the next update.

It’s been a week since Starfield came out on PS5. Bethesda is working to fix issues, but the launch hasn’t been smooth.
