The theme song for the new James Bond game, 007: First Light, is out now, and it features Lana Del Rey, confirming recent speculation.
IO Interactive, the studio behind the Hitman series, announced this new game last year. It will tell the story of the character’s beginnings, showing him as he first becomes a trained agent.
Singer-songwriter Rey has collaborated with composer David Arnold on a new song. Arnold is famous for composing the music for five James Bond films, including Tomorrow Never Dies (1997) and Quantum of Solace (2008).

Rumors about Del Rey’s involvement began circulating in late 2025 when fans discovered she had registered a new song called “First Light” with the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP).
The song’s release led to speculation it might be linked to the next James Bond film, as the titles matched. However, neither Lana Del Rey nor the game developers, IO Interactive, offered any confirmation.

Patrick Gibson, known for his role in ‘Dexter: Original Sin,’ leads the cast of ‘007: First Light.’ Priyanga Burford will play M, and Lennie James joins the film as John Greenway.
Originally, the game was planned to launch in March 2026. However, the developer announced in December that they were delaying the release by two months to allow for more refinement and quality improvements.
This isn’t the first time Lana Del Rey has written a song for a James Bond film. She previously wrote a track for Spectre, but Sam Smith’s ‘Writing on the Wall’ was the one ultimately used in the movie.
