Brad Pitt & His Dog Embark On Intense Survival Journey In First Trailer For David Ayer’s Heart Of The Beast

The first trailer for Brad Pitt’s upcoming survival movie, Heart of the Beast, debuted at CinemaCon, and ScreenRant is reporting on everything that was shown.

Paramount Pictures is developing a new movie about a military veteran stranded in the Alaskan wilderness. The film follows his struggle for survival, along with his highly-trained dog.

ScreenRant recently attended CinemaCon 2026 in Las Vegas and got a first look at the trailer for David Ayer’s new film, Heart of the Beast.

The preview opens with Brad Pitt’s character and his dog relaxing inside a tent. As night falls, the dog becomes agitated and starts barking. Brief scenes of war are intercut with shots of Pitt comforting the dog, telling it everything is alright and it was just a nightmare.

Brad Pitt’s character reveals he used to be in the Special Forces to J.K. Simmons’ character, who replies that they’re in a very dangerous place – “the heart of the beast” – and most people find that out the hard way.

After a plane crash, the dog – recognizable by its silver tooth – rescues Pitt. Determined to return home, Pitt promises to bring his dog with him.

As they began leading the animal to safety, it became apparent he was terrified of a bridge and nearly tumbled off. During the rescue, Pitt accidentally fell into the water and unexpectedly came face-to-face with a bear.

At the end of the trailer, Brad Pitt’s character vows to do anything to protect his dog while they’re lost in the wild.

Brad Pitt is known for his roles in many popular films, including Thelma & Louise, Interview with the Vampire, Fight Club, the Ocean’s Eleven movies, Troy, Mr. & Mrs. Smith, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, 12 Years a Slave, and Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.

Fresh off a major success with the Formula One movie F1 – which he starred in and produced – he’s riding high. The film launched at number one in theaters and ultimately earned $634 million worldwide.

The critically acclaimed film F1, boasting an 82% Fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes, recently received top honors for its sound design, winning an Oscar, a BAFTA, and a Critics’ Choice Award.

Following his recent blockbuster, the actor is now starring in Heart of the Beast, the newest film from director David Ayer. Ayer is known for directing movies like Suicide Squad and The Beekeeper, and for writing popular scripts such as Training Day and The Fast and the Furious. Cameron Alexander wrote the screenplay, and Brad Pitt, Ayer, Damien Chazelle, and Olivia Hamilton all produced the film.

In addition to Brad Pitt, “Heart of the Beast” features Anna Lambe. The film reunites Pitt with director David Ayer, following their previous collaboration on the 2014 movie “Fury.”

Heart of the Beast will be released in theaters in fall 2026.
