On April 23rd, publisher Headup and developer Mirebound Interactive will release Causal Loop, a story-driven puzzle game for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC. The game combines a sci-fi narrative about time, choices, and staying alive with challenging, thought-provoking gameplay.
Here is an overview of the game, via its Steam page:
About
Imagine if every choice you made created a ripple effect, constantly repeating in time. In the game Causal Loop, players don’t simply solve puzzles; they explore a broken world where the past influences the present, and this can be both helpful and dangerous.
In Causal Loop, Bale, an exo-archaeologist, and Jen, an exo-linguist, travel to the alien planet Tor-Ulsat to investigate the remains of the ancient Tor civilization. However, they soon find themselves caught in a massive time loop that begins to break down reality.
Cut off from mission control and relying solely on his partner, Walter, Bale faces numerous challenges as he tries to understand the fate of the Tor and overcome the strange powers working against him. With reality falling apart and the truth hidden in the wreckage, Bale must solve the mystery of the Tor, or risk being trapped in an endless cycle.
