As it turns out, Pee-wee Herman’s bike really is at the Alamo!
Well, now it is, at least.
The distinctive red-and-white bicycle adorned with unusual features like bells and gadgets has become the new possession of the Alamo in San Antonio, Texas.
Enthusiasts of the 1985 movie “Pee-wee’s Big Adventure” would delight in learning that the bike, which Pee-wee was searching for during his grand quest, has been discovered at the location where Herman believed it was prior to setting off on his adventure.
It seems that the soothsayer might have been spot on, who knows? Perhaps there indeed lies a hidden chamber beneath the hallowed grounds of the Alamo.
When Can Fans See Pee-wee’s Bike at the Alamo?
The Schwinn DX Cruiser bicycle has been purchased by the Shrine of Texas Liberty and will be showcased in the Mays Family Legacy Gallery, which is located within the new museum at the Alamo.
While the museum does in fact have a basement, the bike will be found on the second floor.
As a cinema enthusiast eagerly awaiting the premiere, I can confidently say that the grand opening of this new museum is slated for autumn 2027. In the interim, cycling aficionados are in luck, as the bike will be housed temporarily at the Ralston Family Collections Center, offering fans an exclusive sneak peek until the main event.
