The isekai genre – where characters are transported to another world – is now a major part of anime. Popular series like Sword Art Online, Rising of the Shield Hero, and Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation often put their heroes in challenging situations. While many isekai anime explore serious themes, a lot of them are also incredibly funny. Because isekai and comedy often go together, we’ve put together a list of the best comedic isekai series and ranked them for you.
7.) Eminence in Shadow

While Eminence in Shadow isn’t marketed as a comedy, it’s actually a brilliant parody of the isekai genre. It often presents battles and situations that playfully poke fun at typical isekai tropes. The main character pretends to be a master strategist, but is hilariously inept. Though some elements might seem serious, the anime’s over-the-top parody makes it a very funny watch, and that’s why it deserves to be recognized as a comedy.
6.) Isekai Quartet

Unlike Eminence in Shadow, which sometimes downplays its humor, Isekai Quartet embraces over-the-top comedy with its isekai characters. The series, which began in 2019, presents short, lighthearted episodes focusing on the everyday lives of heroes and villains from different isekai worlds. It brings together characters from popular franchises like Konosuba, Overlord, Re:Zero, Tanya the Evil, The Rising of the Shield Hero, and Cautious Hero. If you want a purely silly and slapstick anime, Isekai Quartet is the perfect choice.
5.) Reborn As a Vending Machine, I Now Wander The Dungeon

Most isekai stories feature heroes with incredible new powers when they’re transported to another world, but Reborn As a Vending Machine: I Now Wander The Dungeon takes a different approach – its hero is reborn as a vending machine that can’t move! Fortunately, he can still help adventurers by dispensing useful and occasionally magical items. With the first episode of its third season just released, it’s a great time to discover this unique and quirky series.
4.) Campfire Cooking in Another World With My Absurd Skill

MAPPA, the studio behind popular anime like Jujutsu Kaisen, Chainsaw Man, and Hell’s Paradise, has entered the isekai genre with Campfire Cooking in Another World With My Absurd Skill, and it’s one of the best. The main character, Tsuyoshi Mukouda, immediately stands out as different from typical isekai heroes. Instead of being gifted with amazing combat skills or magic, he has the ability to summon items from Japan using the internet. This unique skill leads to many funny moments, making this isekai a standout title.
3.) Cautious Hero: The Hero is Overpowered but Overly Cautious

I’ve noticed something really funny about the hero in Cautious Hero: The Hero is Overpowered but Overly Cautious. Unlike most heroes in these ‘isekai’ stories who immediately enjoy their new powers, this guy, Seiya Ryuuguuin, is obsessed with being prepared. It’s not just preparation, though – he takes things to an absolutely ridiculous degree to guarantee victory and his own safety. It reminds me a bit of Konosuba, as he’s joined by a goddess, Ristarte, and the show constantly pushes the limits of just how cautious he’ll be. Honestly, the lengths he goes to are so over-the-top, it’s hard not to burst out laughing.
2.) Konosuba: God’s Blessing on This Wonderful World

Many lists of popular isekai anime place Konosuba at the very top, and with good reason. Konosuba: God’s Blessing on This Wonderful World follows Kazuma Satou as he quickly learns that being transported to another world isn’t as glamorous as it seems. The show is consistently funny, and its success has led to multiple seasons and spin-offs filled with some of the best comedic moments in the isekai genre. While it was hard for any series to surpass Konosuba, we at egmr.ru believe one anime is even funnier.
1.) Uncle From Another World

If you’re looking for a truly funny isekai anime, we highly recommend Uncle From Another World. The show follows a nerdy guy who gets transported to a fantasy world and then returns home to tell his nephew all about his adventures. It’s hilarious to watch him avoid romance, constantly find himself in awkward situations, and just really want to play his old Sega Genesis. It’s a shame the anime hasn’t been renewed for a second season, even though the manga is still being released. If you want an anime that will make you laugh, this is definitely one to check out.
