Eric Roberts and Julia Roberts‘ apparent bad blood was simply a runaway rumor.

The actor known for his role in Runaway Train recently spoke about rumors of a disagreement with his sister, offering a rare look at their relationship.

Eric clarified on the April 14th episode of the It Happened in Hollywood podcast that reports about issues were false from the start. He explained that while they sometimes disagree, he and his counterpart genuinely like and respect each other.

He praised her not only as a talented and kind person, but also specifically highlighted her dedication as a mother of three.

He also praised Julia as a fantastic mother to her three children – 21-year-old twins Hazel and Phinnaeus, and 18-year-old son Henry, whom she shares with her husband, Danny Moder. He added that being a parent is the most challenging job of all.

Eric made it clear he likes the 58-year-old, saying, “She’s a cool person.”

Their relationship is strong, but like most siblings, they occasionally disagree about minor things. He explained that their only conflicts are everyday disagreements that aren’t serious issues.

Following a recent discussion about his relationship with his daughter, Emma Roberts, the actor known for his role in The Dark Knight has now spoken about his younger sister.

“It’s only complicated through outside eyes,” he shared on the April 5 episode of Really Famous With Kara Mayer Robinson, “because they don’t get any of it. So, they have their own take, whatever that is.”

The star of Best of the Best also made sure to express how proud he is of his 35-year-old child, whom he shares with his former partner, Kelly Cunningham, saying, “I’m so proud of my kid.”

He’s been open about his personal life and has also admitted to past errors. For example, he told Vanity Fair in 2018 that his early move to Hollywood ultimately helped launch the careers of actresses Julia and Emma Roberts, and he feels proud of that contribution.

In his memoir, Runaway Train: Or the Story of My Life So Far, he later admitted there was a moment he wasn’t proud of.

In his 2024 book, he expressed hope that Julia would accept his public apology, calling the original statement ‘a foolish thing to say’.
