A release date for Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag Resynced may have been revealed. Insider Gaming reports the game is currently slated to launch on July 9, 2026, following a private preview event on April 16. Ubisoft reportedly intended to announce the game on April 16, but delayed the public announcement by a week. However, Ubisoft hasn’t officially confirmed this release date yet.
According to Insider Gaming, a private presentation for journalists and content creators revealed a potential release date of July 9th. This information aligns with other reports suggesting Ubisoft will likely reveal the date publicly before officially announcing it. While the July timeframe seems very likely based on these reports, it hasn’t been formally confirmed by Ubisoft yet.
Adding to the evidence, a listing for Black Flag Resynced briefly showed up on the Ubisoft Connect launcher before being removed. Insider Gaming reported the image featured Edward Kenway wearing a new black and gold costume, set against a damaged ship, a stormy sky, and a burning pirate flag. The listing also mentioned the game would be available on day one through Ubisoft+ Premium.

A key takeaway from Ubisoft’s presentation is how they’re approaching the remake. Insider Gaming reports that Ubisoft is planning Black Flag Resynced as a story-focused, single-player experience, rather than a game centered around collecting loot. This would make it more like the original 2013 game, while still offering updated graphics and gameplay.
For months, Ubisoft has been hinting at a new Assassin’s Creed game. While their March 4th update, titled “Assassin’s Creed: Into 2026,” didn’t reveal the game’s name, Jean Guesdon, head of Assassin’s Creed content, strongly suggested a seafaring theme, telling fans to watch for news. This followed earlier statements from Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot, who confirmed the company was also developing remakes of classic Assassin’s Creed games.
Recent leaks indicate that the upcoming version of Black Flag isn’t just a graphical update. According to a report by Insider Gaming, a ratings board in Indonesia listed the game, called Black Flag Resynced, as including new characters and storylines, all while staying true to the original game. However, Ubisoft hasn’t confirmed these changes officially.
As a big fan, I’m still really hoping Ubisoft officially shows us everything next week! All the signs are pointing to the remake finally happening – we’ve got that July 9th release date floating around, it popped up on some launchers, and there’s been a ton of new leaks. Ubisoft hasn’t confirmed anything yet, but it feels like it’s about to become real!
