3 Jedi Who Survived Order 66 That Star Wars Still Needs To Do More With

When Revenge of the Sith showed the execution of Order 66, it appeared that only Obi-Wan Kenobi and Yoda managed to survive. This idea was reinforced by the original Star Wars trilogy, which only featured those two, plus Luke Skywalker, as active Jedi. However, over the last two decades, Star Wars television series have shown that quite a few other Jedi actually survived the purge.

Interestingly, some of the most prominent Jedi who survived Order 66 – like Ahsoka Tano and Kanan Jarrus – didn’t actually appear in the Star Wars films. Considering all the Jedi who made it through the purge, including those from the TV series, these three characters are the most deserving of expanded roles in future Star Wars movies and shows.

Jocasta Nu

Jocasta Nu is a surprisingly overlooked Jedi Master in the Star Wars universe. As the keeper of the Jedi Order’s archives, she’s had a hand in several key events. Fans might remember her helping Obi-Wan locate Kamino in Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones, and she also appeared in Star Wars: The Clone Wars.

The story of Jocasta Nu wasn’t fully developed, and Star Wars should definitely expand on it. She’s a compelling character—being the keeper of the Jedi archives is a one-of-a-kind position in the Star Wars universe—and she possessed significant power, even though we didn’t see much of it in the films. Comics have established her as a formidable fighter; she even battled Darth Vader after the execution of Order 66, using a powerful lightsaber rifle.

Quinlan Vos

Quinlan Vos, similar to Jocasta Nu, has already shown up in various Star Wars stories, including The Clone Wars and Star Wars: Tales of the Underworld. He was also mentioned in Obi-Wan Kenobi, where it was revealed he aided those who survived Order 66 and other Force-sensitive individuals in finding refuge during a dangerous period. Despite these appearances, fans haven’t seen much of Quinlan Vos, and both the character and the audience would benefit from a more developed storyline.

What makes him such an interesting Jedi is that he often broke the rules, and the official stories reveal he even flirted with the dark side of the Force. Interestingly, he also developed a romantic relationship with Asajj Ventress, a former dark side follower. It would be amazing to see these stories – including his time on the Hidden Path and many others – brought to life in a Star Wars movie or series.

Kelleran Beq

Kelleran Beq, a Jedi who survived the devastating Order 66, is a character fans would love to see more of. Played by Ahmed Best – known for voicing Jar Jar Binks in the prequel films – Kelleran was first shown in The Mandalorian bravely rescuing Grogu during the attack. Since then, however, he’s had very little screen time.

Kelleran’s story has a lot of potential, particularly what happened after he protected Grogu. Hopefully, future Star Wars projects will explore his background further, as Ahmed Best truly deserves the opportunity to expand on the character.
