The Spring 2026 anime season has arrived, and Netflix is releasing a fresh lineup of series. The streaming service started the year strong with visually stunning and exciting anime like Cosmic Princess Kaguya and Love Through a Prism. While Crunchyroll often releases many shows at the beginning of each quarter, Netflix adds series throughout the month, including both original content and continuations of existing anime. With April already halfway over, Netflix has begun streaming the long-awaited Season 2 of Dorohedoro and has even more popular shows planned for release. Just before April started, Netflix Anime announced a list of upcoming series for this season on their official X account.
Although official release dates weren’t available, What’s on Netflix reports that My Dress-Up Darling will arrive on Netflix on April 25, 2026. The anime first aired in January 2022 and has become a very popular, though sometimes debated, high school series. Both seasons are currently available on Crunchyroll, but Netflix hasn’t yet said how many episodes will be added this month.
What Is My Dress-Up Darling About?

My Dress-Up Darling is a fun and popular series about Wakana Gojo, a high school student who loves making traditional dolls but struggles with social interactions. His quiet life changes when Marin, a friendly and outgoing classmate, finds out he’s skilled with crafting. Marin is a passionate cosplayer, but she can’t sew, so she asks Wakana to help her create costumes.
Though they’re very different people, Wakana and Marin quickly become friends. Wakana grows to admire Marin’s skills, and she gets to explore fun and original cosplay ideas. Their bond strengthens as the story goes on, creating a series that’s both funny and touching. The manga is created by Shinichi Fukuda and appears in Young Gangan magazine, published by Square Enix Holdings.
The manga series began in January 2018 and finished in March 2025. It received very positive feedback from both fans and critics, but it also sparked controversy due to its frequent use of fan service, particularly involving a 15-year-old character.
Netflix Has an Exciting Spring 2026 Anime Lineup

In addition to new anime coming this spring, Netflix is adding some recent hits to its streaming library. The highly anticipated second season of Jujutsu Kaisen will be available in May, after being unavailable on the platform for three years. Several other popular series, like Blue Lock and Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation, have multiple seasons, but it’s currently unknown whether all of them will be released at the same time or added gradually.
Plus, Overlord, a highly-rated isekai anime, started streaming on the platform March 31st. The Spring 2026 lineup also includes the third movie in the series, which came out in Japan in 2024. This is just a preview of what’s coming, with more shows to be announced for May and June.
