The upcoming film, Spider-Man: Brand New Day, will feature more familiar faces from the Marvel Cinematic Universe than you might expect. Before the multiverse comes together in Avengers: Doomsday this December, Spider-Man: Brand New Day will bring together MCU heroes on July 31st. Since Marvel Studios gained control of the Spider-Man franchise in 2017, each new movie has combined Spider-Man’s usual allies with characters from across the larger MCU, including appearances by Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.), Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson), and Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch).
The first trailer for Spider-Man: Brand New Day featured several key actors from the movie, like Tom Holland as Peter Parker, Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle, and Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner. However, despite showcasing three of the film’s main heroes, the trailer noticeably left out its most powerful character.
Following a university lecture, Peter Parker sought advice from his professor, Bruce Banner, about DNA mutations. This is because Parker is experiencing changes to his own DNA, which appear to be granting him a brand new ability.

Because of the spell Doctor Strange cast at the end of Spider-Man: No Way Home, Bruce Banner didn’t remember Peter Parker. However, it doesn’t seem like they interacted much even before that.
Initially, it seemed like only Bruce Banner would be in the new Spider-Man movie, not his alter ego, the Hulk. However, that’s not the case!

After the first trailer for Brand New Day sparked speculation that Bruce Banner would appear only as a scientist and professor, Marvel Studios has now confirmed that Hulk’s green, gamma-powered form will indeed return, as revealed in promotional art from a Brazilian retailer.

As a big Marvel fan, I’m really excited to see the new artwork for the upcoming movie! It confirms something a lot of us were hoping for: we’re getting the classic, angry Savage Hulk back, not the more reserved Smart Hulk from Avengers: Endgame. Looks like Spider-Man’s in for a wild ride with this version – things are about to get chaotic!

I’m so excited for this summer’s movie! It’s going to be great to see Hulk back in the MCU after his appearance in She-Hulk: Attorney at Law on Disney+. Honestly, it feels like ages since we’ve seen him at full power – it’s been since Avengers: Infinity War! I can’t wait to see what he can do.
It remains to be seen if Marvel will reveal Hulk in a trailer for Brand New Day or hold back his appearance for a major surprise later in the movie.

The upcoming Spider-Man: Brand New Day movie could include up to five superheroes, with Tom Holland returning as Peter Parker. So far, Jon Bernthal as the Punisher and Mark Ruffalo as the Hulk are confirmed to appear. There are reports that Florence Pugh will briefly reprise her role as Yelena Belova, and many fans believe Sadie Sink will join the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Jean Grey, potentially as early as July 31st.
Why Hulk Will Be Scarier Than Ever in Spider-Man: Brand New Day
Beyond his role as the Hulk, Mark Ruffalo’s Bruce Banner has a compelling reason to show up in Spider-Man: Brand New Day. As Tom Holland’s Peter Parker transforms into a more spider-like being, he’ll likely seek help from his college professor – or, if he’s not officially enrolled, he might be crashing classes at Empire State University to find his former teammate from the Avengers.
Bruce Banner’s skills and his new university position appear to be the initial reasons he’ll get involved in the events of Brand New Day. However, the Hulk will likely appear as well. Sources say the Hulk will be particularly frightening in Spider-Man 4 and might even cause serious harm during an outburst.
Fans are wondering what could bring the Hulk back after Bruce Banner seemingly gained control over his anger and they resolved their issues. Many believe it’s connected to the mind-controlling villain Sadie Sink’s character is rumored to be – potentially Jean Grey – and that this villain might create a distraction allowing someone to escape a dangerous situation.
In a Marvel Comics storyline, Spider-Man made a deal with Mephisto to have everyone forget his identity. Surprisingly, the Hulk was the only one who remembered—even Bruce Banner, his alter ego, didn’t! The “Brand New Day” storyline really should have explored this clever plot point.
