The latest trailer for Avengers: Doomsday delivers exactly what fans have been hoping for in the new Marvel movie. However, Marvel Studios is still holding back some surprises. Their promotional strategy for the return of the Avengers began in December 2025, and it’s been quite different from previous campaigns.
Marvel Studios gave fans a first glimpse of the cast of Avengers: Doomsday with four short trailers shown in theaters alongside Disney’s Avatar: Fire and Ash. These trailers were then shared on Marvel’s social media. A major highlight was the confirmation that Chris Evans will reprise his role as Steve Rogers in the new movie.
The initial teasers for Avengers: Doomsday each highlighted different characters and locations: Captain America’s comeback, Thor seeking guidance from Odin, the wrecked X-Mansion signaling the return of the X-Men, and a glimpse of Namor, Wakandans, and The Thing. While these teasers effectively hinted at the massive scale of the movie, they weren’t complete trailers.
Marvel finally showed the first full trailer for Avengers: Doomsday at CinemaCon 2026, after fans had been requesting it for months. ScreenRant was there, and reports from attendees confirm the trailer lived up to the hype and delivered what fans were hoping for. While the trailer hasn’t been released online yet, those who saw it say it was exactly what Marvel fans wanted.
The First Avengers: Doomsday Trailer Reveals Everything Fans Wanted To See
Fans were most excited to see Robert Downey Jr. as Doctor Doom in the trailer, and it definitely delivered! The first trailer for Avengers: Doomsday shows off Doctor Doom’s comic-book-accurate armor and confirms Downey Jr. is using a unique accent to distinguish the character from his portrayal of Iron Man.
Doctor Doom joins the battle, impressively stopping Thor’s Stormbreaker with just one hand. The movie also features the MCU’s most popular heroes, delivering exactly what fans wanted. We see Thor reunited with Steve Rogers (Captain America), who looks similar to how he appeared in Infinity War with longer hair and a beard. In a memorable moment, Steve reaches out, and Thor’s hammer, Mjolnir, flies directly to him.
The trailer is packed with incredible scenes! We see Mystique battling Yelena Belova and even taking the form of a Marvel hero, Reed Richards holding back Captain America, and a meeting between the new and original Avengers, plus the Fantastic Four at Avengers Tower. There’s also Gambit using his powers against Shang-Chi’s Ten Rings, and much more. Overall, the Avengers: Doomsday trailer is truly epic.
What Could Marvel Be Hiding From The Avengers: Doomsday Trailer?
The first trailer for Avengers: Doomsday showed a lot, but most of the actors featured were already known to be in the movie – with the exception of Kathryn Newton as Cassie Lang. Since Kevin Feige has hinted the trailer didn’t show everyone who’s in the film, we can expect more surprise appearances when it hits theaters.
The movie could feature a wide range of heroes. We might see familiar faces from the Marvel Cinematic Universe like Spider-Man (Tom Holland), Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch), Hulk (Mark Ruffalo), and Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen). It’s also possible the film will bring in characters from different universes, such as Chris Evans as a version of his Fantastic Four character, or heroes like Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man, Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine, and Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool. As trailers for Avengers: Doomsday are released throughout the year, we’ll likely learn more about who will be appearing.
