Kusanagi Mizuho’s popular manga, Yona of the Dawn, finished its run in December 2025, but the anime adaptation still has plenty of story to cover. Fans waited over ten years for news of a sequel, which has now been confirmed, though no details have been released yet. Following the manga’s ending, the story continued with new side stories that will be included in the final volume, number 48. After 16 years, the manga concluded with a poignant ending, leaving readers wondering about the characters’ futures. Yona’s story ends with a mix of happiness and sadness, as she looks ahead to what’s next.
Fans of Yona of the Dawn have a lot to look forward to in 2026, with news expected about a sequel to the anime and the release of new books. Recently, the official Eeo Store Online X account shared a new illustration featuring Yona and Hak dressed in high school uniforms, holding graduation diplomas. Soo-won is depicted in formal attire, resembling a teacher. The artwork also includes cute, miniature versions of other popular characters like the Four Dragon Warriors. This image was released to advertise a new line of merchandise for fans.
When Is Yona of the Dawn Season 2 Coming Out?

I’m so excited – they’ve officially confirmed there will be a sequel! Right now, that’s all we know – no sneak peeks, no trailers, nothing like that yet. They announced it in the latest issue of Hana to Yume alongside the final chapter of the manga, which was a clever way to get everyone buzzing. While details are still under wraps, I’m hoping we’ll get more news later this year – I’m already counting down the days!
You can watch the first season of the anime on Crunchyroll. If you’re interested in the manga, you can purchase the first 45 volumes in English, both as physical copies and digital downloads, from Viz Media’s website. Volume 46 of the English manga is scheduled to be released on July 7, 2026.
I’m so excited to share that Volume 47 is coming out in Japan on February 20th, 2026! We’re still waiting to hear when it will be available in English, but it’s on its way! And that’s not all – they’re also releasing a beautiful special edition artbook with 64 pages, in a nice A5 size, alongside Volume 47. As for the final volume, Volume 48, it’s going to be a bit shorter with just two chapters and some extra side stories. Since the manga is still being made, we don’t have a release date for that one just yet, but I’ll be sure to share it as soon as I know!
What to Expect From Yona of the Dawn Season 2

I watched as the first season ended with Yona, Hak, and Yoon finally collecting all four Dragon Warriors. But even with that major accomplishment, Yona seemed lost about what to do next. Zeno really pushed her to think about the future and what she needed to do to fix the kingdom. It was clear she was dealing with a lot, but thankfully, her friends were there to support her every step of the way.
The new season follows her as she faces a life-changing decision, determined to revitalize the struggling Kouka Kingdom after her father’s rule. The group will journey throughout the kingdom and beyond, exposing the hidden corruption and crime plaguing its towns and cities. Along the way, the story will also reveal the truth behind an ancient prophecy and the legend foretold by the oracle, Iksoo.
