The recent livestream for the upcoming anime open-world game, NTE, revealed players can earn up to 470 free in-game items (pulls) when the game officially launches on PlayStation 5 on April 29th.
Perfect World is changing its gacha system to remove the 50/50 mechanic, meaning players are guaranteed five free characters. This includes a ‘Standard Board’ which ensures a high-tier character after just 50 attempts.
We watched the entire hour-long livestream and have summarized the most important information below. Let’s dive in.
NTE: What Is It and When Is It Coming Out?
NTE (Neverness to Everness) is a free-to-play open-world game where you collect characters, much like Genshin Impact and Wuthering Waves.
The game’s unique feature is its blend of action-packed battles with life simulation aspects similar to GTA Online. Players can purchase and customize apartments, and even host characters for social interactions.
The game will let you work part-time jobs, participate in street races both with other players and against the AI, and experience a story inspired by Control, where you’ll investigate and deal with mysterious and dangerous Anomalies.
The game will launch globally on April 29th as a PlayStation 5 exclusive. It will also be available on PC and mobile devices, and you can carry your progress across all platforms. You’ll be able to download the game before launch starting April 27th.
NTE: Is It Pay-to-Win?
NTE is mainly a game you play by yourself in a vast, open world, though it also includes some online features like street racing.
This game is known for having a very player-friendly system where you’re guaranteed to get the featured character on each banner after a maximum of 90 tries.
Unlike Genshin Impact and Honkai: Star Rail, this game doesn’t have a 50/50 chance system. Instead, after 90 attempts, you’re guaranteed to get the featured top-tier character.
After 70 pulls, your chances of getting a top-tier character greatly increase, potentially letting you get them a little sooner than the guaranteed pity system.
You’ll get new weapons by participating in the Arc Research Program, which uses a special currency called Tri-Keys.
Each attempt costs 10 Tri-Key and always gives you a good (A-Rank) weapon. You’ll get an even better (S-Rank) weapon about every six attempts, and you’re guaranteed the special promoted weapon within eight attempts.
In short, you’ll need 80 Tri-Key items to be sure you can get the signature weapon for the character you like best.
NTE: Are There Any Free Characters?
You’ll receive three free characters simply by playing New Type Evolution, and an additional fourth S-Rank character after using the Standard Board 50 times.
Here’s a breakdown of all the free characters and how to get them:
- Haniel
- Free in your in-game mailbox as part of the Pre-Reg Rewards
- Auriela
- Unlocked by logging in for three days
- Chiz
- Unlocked by progressing your City Tycoon rank
As a new player, I’m super excited to hear that my first five 10-Rolls on the Standard Banner are 20% off! That basically means I can get my first guaranteed S-Rank character after only 40 pulls, which is awesome. And the best part? I get to choose which character I want right away, so no frustrating re-rolls needed!
The characters promoted on the Standard Board are:
- Sakiri
- Baicang
- Hathor
- Fadia
- Daffodill
- Jiuyuan
Based on the rewards listed on this page, you’ll receive enough free Fabricated Dice to guarantee unlocking at least one S-Rank character on the Standard Board.
NTE: What Are the Redemption Codes?
During their livestream, NTE revealed three codes that players can redeem for free in-game rewards starting today.
To use these codes, start the game and go to the Menu, then find and select Redeem Code. You’ll need to enter the codes before May 13th.
