Xbox Series X Getting 2025 PS5 Exclusive Survival Game This Summer

A survival game originally released on PC and PlayStation 5 in April is coming to Xbox Series X this summer. The game was first available through Steam’s Early Access program in 2023. While a specific release date hasn’t been announced yet, Xbox fans who enjoy the survival genre will be interested to hear about its arrival on a third platform.

This summer, Far From Home will launch its sci-fi survival game, Forever Skies, on Xbox Series X. Currently, it’s not planned to be available through Xbox Game Pass at launch. If that changes, players with Xbox Series X or S will need to purchase the game for $34.99, which is $5 more than the Steam version, but the same price as the PlayStation 5 version.

A Wide Range of Scores

So, how well-received is Forever Skies? Reviews are mixed. It scores highest with players on the PlayStation Store, averaging 4.31 out of 5 stars from over 3,100 reviews – which translates to an 86 out of 100. On Steam, it has a 79% approval rating based on more than 4,500 reviews. However, professional critics are less impressed, giving it a score of 66 on Metacritic.

This game is a first-person survival adventure set on a devastated, post-apocalyptic Earth. Players must explore the world for supplies, create tools, and face risks while searching for a way to save humanity. A key part of this involves building and improving a high-tech airship. You can play alone or team up with up to three friends online, but the game doesn’t support local co-op.

If you’re getting this game on Xbox Series X or S, you can expect to spend around 20 to 30 hours finishing the main story, but like many survival games, there’s plenty to do even after you’ve completed it.
