Fans are eagerly awaiting Pokémon Winds and Waves, which promises to be a thrilling new installment in the Pokémon series. However, recent updates haven’t been what players hoped for. Although announced at the Pokémon Day event in February, the game isn’t expected to release until 2027.
Despite this, there’s still time for more details to emerge over the next year, particularly since important things like the game’s location haven’t been revealed yet. However, a trustworthy source now indicates we might have to wait a significant amount of time for any further announcements.
Winds & Waves Info Could Be Far Away
According to a post on X by Centro LEAKS, the person who previously shared accurate information about the upcoming Pokémon Winds and Waves games – including details about the starter Pokémon – now says we shouldn’t expect any further updates until 2027. While a 2027 release date was already known, many fans were hoping to hear more about the games before then.
After someone questioned the information, Centro LEAKS emphasized that their source has always been accurate. They pointed out a perfect track record, implying the information is trustworthy. Later, another leaker named BallGuy confirmed the details. While BallGuy isn’t as consistently reliable, having a second source strengthens the claim’s credibility.
Gen 10 Starts In 2027
It’s no surprise that many fans aren’t thrilled with this news. One user, AyakaMain5000, shared a screenshot of a crying character from Pokémon X and Y as a way to show how a lot of the community feels. However, not everyone is upset – Pokenary welcomes the change, hoping it will bring unexpected surprises.
Beyond just getting tired of waiting, the fact that we haven’t heard anything new this year makes it seem likely that Pokémon Winds and Waves won’t be released until late 2027. While Nintendo and Game Freak might want to prioritize promoting other games in 2026, we’d probably have seen some information about Winds and Waves by now if it were coming out early in 2027.
As a huge Pokémon fan, I’m still rewatching the Pokémon Winds and Waves trailer, trying to find any hidden clues! It feels like we’ve probably found everything there is to find, though. If that’s not enough to hold us over, we can always revisit Pokémon Pokopia, which everyone loved, or Pokémon Champions, which was a bit more controversial but still fun. This isn’t the first time Nintendo has shown us a new Pokémon game and then gone quiet for a while, and honestly, the wait always feels long!
