Nikki “Bella” Garcia won’t be stepping back into the wrestling ring just yet.
The WWE wrestler discussed her recent ankle injury, explaining why she couldn’t compete at WrestleMania 42 in Las Vegas on April 18th.
Nikki shared a video on X (formerly Twitter) on April 18th showing her injured ankle, explaining she had fractured, torn, and sprained it. She added that the past two weeks have been very painful.
Regarding her recovery time, one of the Bella Twins shared on X (formerly Twitter) that she hopes to be sidelined for 6 to 8 weeks.
I was so thrilled to see Saraya step in for Nikki at WrestleMania! Nikki unfortunately couldn’t perform, and Saraya – or Paige, as many of us know her – really delivered. It was amazing to watch her team up with Brie and actually win the Women’s Tag Team Championships! Such a fantastic moment for both of them, and a real testament to Saraya’s skill and dedication.
Nikki did make a brief cameo, however, stepping out with a crutch alongside her sister.
I worked really hard to recover from my injury, but I wasn’t able to get cleared by doctors today,” she explained to the crowd before bringing out Paige. “I didn’t want to take anything away from Brie’s WrestleMania moment, so I asked a friend to step in for me.
It felt like fate when Paige stepped in for Nikki, who had recently had surgery. Nikki had shared that she’d had the operation two weeks prior. This moment marked Paige’s return to WWE after eight years – she’d been sidelined since a severe neck injury in 2017.

It’s unbelievable, but when I went to Birmingham for surgery, Paige was there too! Brie and I were talking on the phone, and I told her there was no way I could perform at WrestleMania, but that she still deserved her moment. We both immediately agreed that the only person who could make it feel truly special, like a family affair, was Saraya – Paige.
Life is unpredictable, but that’s just part of the process, isn’t it? I always find a way to bounce back. And honestly, there’s no other wrestler – past or present – I’d want to see take my place other than Paige. I really mean that.
While Nikki heals from her injury, here are some other celebrities who have shared their experiences with health challenges.

Nikki Bella, known from Total Bellas, shared that one of her breast implants moved after being hit during an elbow strike from wrestler Piper Niven in a match that took place in July 2025.
She reassured her sister, Bella Garcia, saying they would get the issue resolved eventually. She explained to the doctor that as soon as she finished her current commitment, she’d return to address the problem and ensure everything looked its best, because she planned to use it again and it needed to be in good condition.

Lupita Nyong’o, known for her role in 12 Years a Slave, received a diagnosis of uterine fibroids – non-cancerous growths in or around the uterus – in 2014, the same year she won an Academy Award for her performance in the film.
She didn’t reveal her diagnosis until 2025, when she shared on Instagram that she had been privately struggling with it for over ten years.
She explained that growing up, many girls are taught to accept period pain as a normal part of womanhood. This often leaves them dealing with a common issue in silence and feeling isolated.

In July 2025, the actress from Daisy Jones & The Six revealed she’d been hospitalized for a hernia. This happened because she’d been wearing pants that were too tight, which caused a gap in her abdominal muscles.
Someone messaged Suki on X (formerly Twitter), asking why she hadn’t posted recently. The message jokingly explained the silence by saying the sender had suffered a hernia six months prior due to wearing very tight pants and had been afraid to mention it.

The former star of Beverly Hills, 90210 shared in April 2025 that he was recovering from surgery because his appendix was close to rupturing.
Brian shared in an Instagram video that he recently experienced stomach pain which led him to the emergency room. He explained that his appendix had a hole in it – it hadn’t fully burst, but was very close to doing so.
He added, “I’m on the road to recovery. It’s not an easy process. This is my first major surgery.”

A Racing Louisville midfielder fell to the ground shortly after the start of her team’s game against Seattle Reign on September 14th at Lumen Field in Seattle.
According to Reuters, the U.S. Women’s National Team player was seen slowly sitting down on the field with a teammate supporting her, before suddenly collapsing. Trainers were immediately called to assess her condition.
As a lifestyle expert focused on wellness, I want to share an update regarding Savannah. After sustaining an injury during the game, she thankfully received immediate medical attention right on the field. She was then taken to a nearby hospital for more thorough testing. The good news is, she’s currently stable and fully alert, which is a huge relief to everyone.

I was really surprised to learn that Adam Devine is still dealing with the effects of being hit by a cement truck when he was just 11! It’s incredible how something that happened so long ago can continue to impact someone, but he shared that his injuries still bother him.
“It’s been incredibly difficult,” Devine shared on the In Depth With Graham Bensinger podcast in 2025. “I experience spasms throughout my body, and doctors recently told me I was facing a life-threatening situation—within the past year, actually.”
He acknowledged that pain is temporary, explaining that his body has some minor imperfections and isn’t quite functioning as it should.

The former Bachelor contestant said he had to crawl to the hospital because of terrible back pain that got worse during a road trip with a friend.
He described a strange tingling sensation that still lingered in his legs as of March 2025, sharing this on his Trading Secrets podcast. He explained that just a few weeks or a month prior, he was able to squat 295 pounds, but now he couldn’t even do a squat, or even stand on one leg without falling. He compared the feeling to having had a stroke.
But with the help of a back specialist and some steroids, he added, “We’re on the mend.”

Gina Kirschenheiter from The Real Housewives of Orange County revealed that her ex-husband, Matt Kirschenheiter, had a heart attack in March 2025, but he is now doing okay.

I was so worried when I heard about Alec Baldwin! Apparently, he had a health issue at a Knicks game back in March 2025 and they actually had to wheel him out of Madison Square Garden. It was really scary to see!
I was so worried when I heard my favorite comedian wasn’t feeling well, but thankfully he posted an update! It turns out he just had a bad case of food poisoning and is already getting better. What a relief!

In February 2025, the former Even Stevens star revealed she was accidentally shot in the face during a birthday celebration for her husband, Brendan Rooney. They were on a clay pigeon shooting outing when the incident occurred.
I was shot in the face at a party because someone fired a gun carelessly in the wrong direction,” she explained on Instagram. “Brendan Rooney quickly checked me over and got me to the hospital. I was hit five times, and one bullet came dangerously close to my right eye – less than an inch away.
The Kim Possible actress explained that a small piece of something got stuck behind her eye, and doctors believe it’s too dangerous to remove with surgery right now. She’s being closely monitored by doctors, but currently her vision is normal.
The actress expressed immense gratitude for surviving a frightening experience. She shared her deep love for her daughters, husband, family, and friends, explaining that going through a near-death experience made her realize how precious life is. She urged everyone to cherish their loved ones and embrace every moment, because things can change quickly.

Amy Schumer is grateful for the internet, despite its downsides, because it helped her discover a health issue. After noticing online comments about her “puffy” face during interviews, she was surprised to see doctors commenting, suggesting she might have Cushing syndrome. They pointed out changes in her appearance that prompted her to realize she’d been receiving steroid injections after a breast reduction and C-section. These injections, she learned, had caused the condition, which she wouldn’t have known about without the online scrutiny. Schumer recently shared that she’s relieved to have a form of Cushing syndrome that will resolve on its own and that she’s healthy.

In December 2024, an AHL player suffered a skate cut during a game and needed 25 stitches to close the wound. After his son fully recovered, New Jersey Devils General Manager Tom Fitzgerald told ESPN how relieved they were, saying, “We feel very lucky, and I wouldn’t want any parent to go through that.”

In March 2022, Hailey Bieber experienced a frightening health scare while having breakfast with her husband, Justin Bieber. She suddenly developed stroke-like symptoms, initially struggling to respond when Justin noticed something was wrong. She couldn’t speak and the right side of her face began to droop, but these symptoms eventually passed.
After going to the hospital, doctors discovered Hailey had a small blood clot in her brain, which they identified as a TIA (Transient Ischemic Attack). Further testing at UCLA revealed she had a hole in her heart, called a patent foramen ovale (PFO).
Doctors determined the blood clot had traveled to her brain through this hole, causing the TIA. Hailey successfully underwent a procedure to close the PFO and is now recovering well.

The same year Hailey faced a health issue, Justin also experienced one. In June 2022, he revealed he had been diagnosed with Ramsay Hunt syndrome, a condition that caused temporary paralysis on one side of his face. This forced him to cancel the rest of his Justice World Tour.
In a video posted to Instagram, Justin explained the virus affected nerves in his ear and face, preventing him from blinking, smiling, or moving his nostril on the affected side. He also shared that it was becoming increasingly difficult for him to eat.
Fortunately, the paralysis eventually went away. Hailey shared on Good Morning America that Justin was recovering well and feeling much better, adding that they were grateful he was going to be okay. It had been a scary and unexpected situation, but he was on the path to a full recovery.

Jamie Foxx recently shared details about the health scare he experienced in April 2023, which he had initially kept private. He explained that while in Atlanta, he suffered a severe headache and asked for aspirin. Before he could take it, he lost consciousness and doesn’t remember the next 20 days.
Initially, a doctor gave him a cortisone shot and sent him home, but his sister, Deidra Dixon, was worried and took him to the hospital. There, doctors discovered he had a brain bleed that led to a stroke.
After surgery, Jamie woke up in a wheelchair on May 4th, unable to walk. He then traveled to Chicago for extensive rehabilitation and therapy. He expressed his gratitude for all the prayers he received, saying he needed every single one.

The reality TV star shared that she briefly stopped breathing while running a mile during the first challenge on the NBC competition show.
She shared on the show Fit for TV: The Reality of The Biggest Loser that her memory of the event was fragmented. She recalled hearing a helicopter, feeling like she was floating, and then seeing her grandfather. After that, everything went dark, but she then experienced a bright light, leading her to realize she had died that day.
She explained that her organs were failing. She hadn’t known she had rhabdomyolysis, a condition where your body essentially starts to shut down.

Emilia Clarke, known for her role in Game of Thrones, revealed a harrowing health battle in a 2019 essay for The New Yorker. While filming the series, she experienced a severe headache at the gym, followed by intense pain and vomiting. She quickly realized something was seriously wrong, suspecting brain damage.
A hospital scan revealed she had suffered a subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH), a life-threatening stroke caused by a ruptured aneurysm. She underwent immediate surgery to repair it, describing the pain as excruciating. During her recovery, she experienced aphasia, struggling to communicate and often speaking nonsense.
Although she left the hospital after a month, a 2013 scan revealed the aneurysm had grown and required a second surgery. This procedure failed, leading to a massive bleed and a precarious situation. Doctors had to perform a more invasive surgery, accessing her brain directly through her skull.
Fortunately, Emilia reports she has now made a full recovery and is at 100%.

As a lifestyle expert, I’m always inspired by stories of resilience, and Cori Broadus, Snoop Dogg’s daughter, is a perfect example. She recently opened up about a really scary experience – a stroke she had in January of this year. Thankfully, her family rallied around her immediately. She told TopMob News that she simply texted them what happened, sent a picture, and they all rushed to be there for her. It ended up being a longer hospital stay than expected, though. She was also dealing with some lupus and kidney issues at the same time, which made things even more challenging. But the good news is, Cori is doing much better now! She’s been working on regaining some motor skills, and overall, she feels great. It’s a powerful reminder to cherish your loved ones and prioritize your health.

I’ve been a long-time admirer of Shailene Woodley, and I was so moved by what she recently shared about her twenties. It sounds like it was a really difficult time for her health. She explained on a podcast that she was dealing with so many issues – she was losing her hearing, couldn’t walk for more than a few minutes without being completely exhausted, and everything she ate caused her stomach pain. It was a confusing mess of diagnoses and doctors telling her different things.
Shailene, being someone who grew up with a holistic approach and studies herbalism, decided to take matters into her own hands. She wanted to work with both traditional doctors and alternative healers, really searching for a way to feel comfortable in her own body. It wasn’t a quick fix; it took a full ten years of dedication and exploration.
She explained that the physical discomfort led to a lot of mental struggles. She became afraid of food because it hurt, and that spiraled into body dysmorphia and confusion about her identity and how to feel safe. It was a really honest and vulnerable account of her experience.
Thankfully, after years of work on both her physical and mental health, she’s now doing so much better. She said the issues ultimately resolved themselves and she’s very healthy and happy, and honestly, hearing her share that was just so inspiring.
