Alison Sweeney & More Pay Tribute to Patrick Muldoon After His Death

Stars are remembering the days of Patrick Muldoon’s life.

Following the death of Austin Reed actor Patrick Muldoon on April 19th at age 57, many of his colleagues and friends from Days of Our Lives shared heartwarming memories and celebrated his life and career.

Alison Sweeney, known for her role as Samantha Brady on the popular NBC show, shared her sadness on X (formerly Twitter) on April 20th, calling the news “heartbreaking.” She described Pat as exceptionally talented, consistently kind, and incredibly generous.

She fondly remembered working with him when she joined Days. He immediately put her at ease and always brought a special sense of fun and personality to the job. He was a remarkably talented person and will be deeply missed.

Lisa Rinna, who starred as Billie Reed on Days of Our Lives alongside John Muldoon, showed their close bond went beyond the screen. She shared an old photo of them on Instagram Stories on April 20th, adding a broken heart emoji.

And it wasn’t just anyone! Even Jake Getman, can you believe it?! He had to share his thoughts on the passing of the incredible Marlowe. I mean, it just shows how much of an impact that man had on everyone, even people like Jake Getman! It was amazing to see all the love pouring in.

He shared a photo on Instagram in April remembering Patrick Muldoon, who had passed away. The picture showed them together at a red carpet event. He wrote that he’d worked with Muldoon as a child on the movie Little Dead Rotting Hood, describing him as a wonderful person who always brought a positive energy.

According to his manager, actor Muldoon passed away on April 20th. His sister, Shana Muldoon-Zappa, told TMZ he died of a heart attack at his home while showering. He was found by his girlfriend, Miriam Rothbart.

Besides his partner and sister, Muldoon is survived by his parents, Deanna and Patrick Muldoon, Sr., as well as his brother-in-law Ahmet Zappa, and nieces and nephew, Halo and Arrow Zappa.

While he had roles in shows like Melrose Place and movies such as Deadlock, actor Muldoon first became well-known in 1992 for playing Austin Reed on Days of Our Lives. He continued in that role for three years and later returned to the show in 2011 and 2012.

After the actor’s death, those who knew him told Deadline he was remembered for his kindness, funny spirit, and unique personality.

Those who knew him said Muldoon was a loving and charismatic person who cared deeply for both animals and people. He was known for his warm, comforting hugs and had a special ability to make everyone feel accepted and secure. He lived life to the fullest, with an energetic and joyful spirit.
