Fans of the video game Elden Ring have been waiting for this news: a movie adaptation is officially coming! The film, directed and written by Alexander Garland, will feature a talented cast and be shown in IMAX theaters starting March 3, 2028.

Bandai Namco announced that filming for the movie will start in Spring 2026, and they also shared the complete list of actors who will be starring in it.

Elden Ring movie full cast revealed

I’m so hyped for the Elden Ring movie! They’ve got a seriously impressive cast of 11 big names signed on, but Bandai Namco and A24 are keeping everyone guessing about who’s playing who. Still, I’ve been doing some thinking, and honestly, I’d put all my money on Nick Offerman being perfect as Starscourge Radahn. Just imagine!

Actor’s name Character Actor’s most notable role (s)
Kit Connor TBC Warfare, Heartstopper

Havana Rose Liu TBC Bottoms
Sonoya Mizuno  TBC Ex Machina
Jonathan Pryce TBC The Two Popes
Ruby Cruz TBC Willows, Bottoms
Nick Offerman TBC The Last of Us
John Hodgkinson TBC Napoleon
Jefferson Hall TBC House of the Dragon
Emma Laird TBC 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple
Peter Serafinowicz TBC Guardians of the Galaxy

Garland has worked with several actors who will be in the new film before, including Kit Connor on Warfare, Sonoya Mizuno on Ex Machina, and Emma Laird on 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple. He’s also teaming up again with producer Peter Rice, who will work on the film alongside Andrew Macdonald, Allon Reich, George R.R. Martin, and Vince Gerardis.

A movie based on the game Elden Ring is reportedly A24’s biggest project yet, costing over $100 million to make. Director Alex Garland is a huge fan of Elden Ring, having spent more than 4000 hours playing it over seven different times.

Surprisingly, the Elden Ring movie isn’t Garland’s first time working with video games. He previously wrote for Enslaved: Odyssey to the West by Ninja Theory and DmC: Devil May Cry.

Fans recently got a sneak peek at the upcoming Elden Ring movie thanks to leaked set footage on Reddit. The footage seems to show an early area in the game called Limgrave, specifically the Church of Marika.
