I’ve been hearing so much about ‘John Proctor is the Villain’ – it’s really making waves in the theatre world! From its start on Broadway to the completely sold-out shows at the Royal Court, everyone is talking about it. It’s a truly exciting play to see get this kind of attention.
Now, the seven-time Tony nominee is transferring to London’s West End.
The play is coming to Wyndham’s Theatre and will run for a limited 12-week season between February and April 2027.
We don’t yet know who will star in the West End version of the show, but since Sadie Sink played the lead role on Broadway, we expect they’ll cast another well-known actress.
John Proctor is the Villain centers around five high school girls in a small American town. While studying Arthur Miller’s play, The Crucible, in class, it becomes clear that these girls – and the community around them – are hiding secrets.
I just saw a truly electrifying play! It’s a high-energy, pop-infused look at what it’s like to grow up as a girl today. But it’s more than that – it really digs into the strength of female friendships and the bravery it takes to challenge the status quo. It’s a powerful and moving experience, fueled by both anger and a real sense of hope.

Playwright Kimberly Belflower and director Danya Taymor expressed their excitement about bringing “John Proctor is the Villain” to the West End, calling it a real honor and a joy. They were particularly pleased it follows the play’s successful UK premiere during the Royal Court’s 70th anniversary season.
Audiences in London have been loving the play, and we’ve quickly fallen for the city ourselves! We’re thrilled our plans worked out, allowing more people to enjoy the show – and return for multiple visits – at the wonderful Wyndham’s Theatre in 2027.
