A third installment of The Devil Wears Prada actually would be groundbreaking.
Even though the sequel to the popular 2006 movie isn’t out until May 1st, the actors are already discussing working together on another stylish project.
During an appearance on Andy Cohen’s radio show, Emily Blunt, Anne Hathaway, Stanley Tucci, and Meryl Streep were asked about the possibility of making a third Devil Wears Prada movie sometime in the future. Emily quickly answered before Stanley Tucci, who is actually Emily’s brother-in-law, could make a dark joke about it.
“Please don’t say ‘I’ll be dead,’” she requested during the cast’s April 20th interview on SiriusXM’s Radio Andy. “That joke is off-limits.”
So, the Hunger Games alum took a different approach.
“Alright,” Stanley, 65, quipped back, “I’ll be infirmed.”
As for Meryl? Well, she’s game for a third film and then some.
“I’m up for it,” she admitted. “I’m up for Mamma Mia 3, myself.”
Meryl Streep knows some clever filmmaking will be needed if she returns as Donna Sheridan in another Mamma Mia movie. As revealed in the 2018 sequel, Here We Go Again, her character is deceased, and she jokingly acknowledges, “They really do have to bring me back from the dead for that.”
Emily Blunt and Stanley Tucci, the actors who played Emily Charlton and Nigel in The Devil Wears Prada, would likely be happy to reprise their roles and work together again in a movie sequel.
Emily, age 43, shared that she and another actor were hoping for more shared screen time in the upcoming second movie.

Emily shared with TopMob News at the New York City movie premiere on April 20th that she and her co-star, Stan, were frustrated with the limited scenes they had together. She hopes they’ll have more opportunities to work closely as a team if they make a sequel, saying, ‘They better have us joined at the hip!’
Of the actor, who is married to her sister Felicity Blunt, she added, “I love him.”
Meryl Streep, 76, joked at the event that audiences would be surprised by how youthful her character, Miranda Priestly, appears in the new movie. She also talked about what it meant to the actors to continue the film’s story for a new generation.
She explained to TopMob News that while they knew the movie was good and enjoyable, they were surprised by its lasting impact. ‘The fans showed us what this film really meant,’ she said. ‘Many great, fun movies don’t continue to resonate with audiences for decades like this one has.’
