A beloved Nintendo 64 game from 1998 might be making a comeback! We’ve seen a growing trend of N64 games being remastered or remade recently, with titles like GoldenEye 007, Turok: Dinosaur Hunter, DOOM 64, Super Mario 64, Glover, and Gex: Enter the Gecko all getting re-released or added to Nintendo’s Switch Online. Now, it looks like another classic from that era could be joining them, though details are still limited.
This week, Argonaut Games announced they’re planning to bring back Buck Bumble, a quirky N64 shooter from November 1998. Players control Buck Bumble, a cyborg bee, and fly through various levels, battling other mutated insects. While the game didn’t receive great reviews when it was originally published by Ubisoft, it’s remained popular with N64 fans, largely due to its memorable title music.
Argonaut Games hasn’t officially announced a new version of Buck Bumble, but they’ve strongly hinted that something is coming. In a recent social media post, they encouraged fans to stay tuned for updates related to the game. While it could be anything, a modern re-release of Buck Bumble seems like the most likely possibility.

Argonaut recently released a remastered version of Croc: Legend of the Gobbos for modern consoles. Now that Croc is out, many believe Argonaut is working on a similar update for the N64 game Buck Bumble. If so, we can expect a remastered version of Buck Bumble to be available on PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
There haven’t been any official announcements about Buck Bumble yet, so Argonaut might have different plans for the game. We’ll share any direct updates from Argonaut here on ComicBook as soon as we get them.
