Reikon Games has revealed a new glimpse of RUINER 2, the highly anticipated cyberpunk action RPG with rogue-like elements, and it looks like it will be a fantastic follow-up to the original.
The game sends you back to Rengkok, a brutal place where you either fight to survive or become another victim. While it’s a harsh reality, defeating bosses lets you claim their powerful ‘Shells,’ which you can then use against enemies. Honestly, in a world this bleak, it’s exactly what you need to make it through.
Each character, called a Shell, has unique skills and can be upgraded in four different ways. During each playthrough, you can choose three of these upgrades. The game also supports online co-op with up to three friends, letting you combine abilities for powerful effects. Even now, the crafting and upgrade system seems surprisingly complex and offers a lot of potential.
This game is still being developed, so the trailer doesn’t fully represent the final version. However, it gives you a taste of the exciting and chaotic gameplay to come. You can sign up now for a chance to playtest an early version starting April 27th.
