The reality TV world has said goodbye to an elusive figure.
Lee Najjar, who was known as the ex-husband of Kim Zolciak from The Real Housewives of Atlanta, has passed away at the age of 68. His daughter, Katelin Najjar, shared the news on Instagram on April 20th.
While the exact cause of death isn’t yet known, authorities confirmed Lee passed away on April 18th, according to TMZ.
As a lifestyle expert, I remember when The Real Housewives of Atlanta first came out in 2008, everyone was buzzing about Kim and the mystery man funding her incredible life. She was receiving lavish gifts and jetting off on amazing trips, but she cleverly kept his identity under wraps, calling him ‘Big Poppa’ on the show. It was quite the storyline until they eventually split in 2009.
Throughout their relationship, Lee remained married to Kimberly Najjar, and they share four children together: Katelin, Jared, Jeremy, and Jamen.
After her father passed away, Katelin shared videos of them together on Instagram, reminiscing about their joyful moments. She posted one video with a broken heart emoji and the message, “I love you.”
She also reshared a post from a close friend who reflected on Lee’s legacy.
A friend shared on Instagram how difficult it is to picture life without Lee, but emphasized that his memory and impact on those who cared for him will last forever.
Those who knew Lee and Katelin Najjar described them as exceptionally close and deeply connected. He consistently went above and beyond to bring her joy, patiently tolerating their family’s playful antics for many years. He had immense love for Kimberly and all of his children.
After her divorce from Lee, Kim married Kroy Biermann in 2011. The couple separated in 2023 and are currently going through a divorce. They have five children together: Brielle, 29, Ariana, 24, Kroy Jr., 14, Kash, 13, and 12-year-old twins, Kaia and Kane.
Even though Kim and Lee had broken up, she knew she would always cherish their time together.
She told Us Weekly in 2009 that despite always considering him the love of her life, she felt it was time to move forward.
