There’s one thing that every Emmerdale fan knows – never mess with a Dingle!
Okay, so this week on the show, things got seriously intense for Charity! She went into labor and actually gave birth in an elevator – can you believe it? And it was even more complicated because both her husband, Mackenzie, and the baby’s other dad, Ross, were there. The whole time, she was desperately trying to hide the fact that she wasn’t actually a surrogate for her granddaughter, Sarah. It was a total mess, and so dramatic!
Following a serious bleeding incident, experienced surgeon Dr. Todd took control of the situation. Meanwhile, Ross was unexpectedly left to care for a baby. He immediately realized he wasn’t prepared for parenthood and quickly passed the child to Sarah and her husband, Jacob Sugden.
That evening, Charity asked Chas Dingle, who was one of the few people who knew the secret, to talk to Ross and make sure he didn’t come near the hospital.
I didn’t know it then, but Todd had actually heard everything! He saw it as a chance to help with her plan to get back at Jacob, and decided to use what he knew to do just that.

She went to Charity’s hospital ward and, while they were alone, casually mentioned that Jacob and baby Leyla had incompatible blood types – implying Jacob couldn’t be the father.
Mack interrupted them, but Todd came back in today’s episode to keep questioning Charity. Charity pretended not to understand, so Todd explained that Leyla has blood type O. She knew Jacob’s blood type was AB because of a blood drive at The Hide a few weeks earlier.
Charity was frightened, and Todd offered her a deal: he wouldn’t tell anyone about what she’d done if she asked Jacob to withdraw his HR complaint against her. Otherwise, she threatened to expose everything.

Sarah and Jacob looked overjoyed as they held baby Leyla and showed her off to their family, which made Charity feel incredibly guilty. Charity said she wanted to get Dr. Todd a thank-you gift for saving her, but Jacob immediately disagreed.
Charity wondered if filing a complaint was worth the effort, and questioned if he was simply reacting too strongly.
Since Jacob persistently pursued her, she faced a difficult choice. She could file a complaint, knowing it would likely be ignored and could harm his job, or she could prioritize spending precious time with her newborn daughter, Leyla.

Jacob thought Todd might have swayed Charity’s opinion, but he decided not to pursue his complaint during the HR meeting. The manager explained that other coworkers had also raised concerns about Todd’s behavior, and they believed Jacob’s complaint could help them address the issue more effectively.
Returning to the village, he told Todd he wouldn’t pursue a complaint against her. She was greatly relieved and suggested they begin anew once his paternity leave was over.
While Jacob was gone, she subtly hinted to Manpreet Sharma, “He thinks he’s learned everything, but he has a lot more to experience.”
Will Charity try and seek revenge for the blackmail?
