Kate Hudson knows what wants her kids to borrow from her.
Kate Hudson, known for her role in Running Point and mother to Ryder (22, with ex-husband Chris Robinson), Bingham (14, with ex-fiancé Matt Bellamy), and Rani (7, with fiancé Danny Fujikawa), recently shared the most important lesson she wants to instill in her children: a single, core message.
Kate shared with TopMob News at the 2026 TIME100 Gala on April 23rd that she hopes people recognize her dedication and understand her drive. She explained it’s similar to how she views her own parents – she values a strong work ethic and discipline.
We’re all a community, and that’s something I see continuing with my children too,” she explained. “It’s a true community where we rely on each other, and it thrives on collaboration.
For the past several decades, being in the public spotlight has been much easier for the 47-year-old because of the strong support she has around her.
She hopes people will connect with each other, appreciate one another, and value each other’s accomplishments, and that she’s setting a good example of how to do that.
Beyond her successful career in film and television, Kate wants people to know how much she’s always made her family a priority.
She emphasized that family is the most important thing, saying, ‘No matter what happens, your children and family should always be your priority.’
Kate is hoping these experiences feel real, particularly since she’s already guessed that some of her children might also pursue careers in entertainment.
We’re a family that always seems to break out into either acting a scene or dancing,” she playfully told TopMob News recently. “I guess it’s just in our genes!”
Evidence of this family talent is clear when you look at Kate Hudson’s brothers, Oliver Hudson and Wyatt Russell, who both followed in the acting footsteps of their parents, Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell. Kurt Russell’s other son, Boston Russell, is the only one who hasn’t pursued a public career.
It’s really remarkable,” the How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days actress said. “Everyone in my family is involved in the entertainment industry, or they’re just naturally creative people who need to express themselves through performing arts. It seems to run in the family.”
