A woman in California was filming a TikTok at the gym when another person began bothering her. She tried to politely tell him she wasn’t interested, but he kept pushing, making her feel very uncomfortable.

TikTok user Jenna.fitness was filming a warm-up video when a man at the gym repeatedly interrupted her. In the video, Jenna explains, “This man wouldn’t leave me alone.” He started asking her personal questions, like if she had a boyfriend and what her name was.
The situation escalates when the man asks for Jenna’s Instagram username. She declines, explaining she’s in a relationship, but he ignores this and points out he’s never seen her with a partner at the bar. He then asks for her phone number, claiming he just wants to be friends.
The gymgoer surprisingly claimed Jenna had been looking at him, saying, “I’ve noticed you checking me out, so I thought I’d say hi.” Jenna, completely shocked and visibly uncomfortable, insisted she’d never seen him before, implying he’d just made up an excuse to approach her.
The Internet Was Just As Creeped Out as Jenna
Many women on TikTok saw Jenna’s video and quickly defended her. They found the interaction really creepy and were worried about her safety. It was a perfect example of how not to behave!
Many TikTok users pointed out that Jenna was being very polite, maybe even too polite. One commenter suggested they needed to be more assertive, saying the man didn’t respond to kindness. Another agreed, adding that he likely understood her politeness but simply didn’t care. This interaction is a perfect example of how persistent someone can be even after being rejected.

One person was confused by a man’s question about whether a woman had a boyfriend, wondering why it was relevant or his concern at all. While someone else commented that asking wasn’t necessarily wrong, repeatedly questioning her after she said she did have a boyfriend was inappropriate. Another TikTok user pointed out that the question felt pointless if the asker intended to harass her regardless of her answer. Many attributed this behavior to sexism.
One commenter expressed serious worry about Jenna’s safety, warning, “He could be stalking you, please be careful!” It’s always best to prioritize safety and be cautious.
The comments and Jenna’s reaction made it obvious that everything that happened was wrong. Her caption – “I was still trying to be nice so I didn’t get followed home and hurt” – showed she was genuinely afraid for her safety.
