The weekend’s Final Fantasy 14 Fan Fest brought plenty of exciting news, but today is all about Alien Day! It’s the 47th anniversary of the original movie, and Sega and Creative Assembly marked the occasion by releasing a first look at the sequel to Alien: Isolation.
The scene, titled “False Sense of Security,” begins with a slow zoom on a door in darkness. The door opens to reveal a rainy night, and a phone displaying “Emergency” starts beeping before the screen cuts to black. Notably, the building itself appeared damaged before this first visual transition.
Could this be the result of something breaking free and causing chaos – maybe even a Xenomorph or two? While details like the official name, release date, and how the game will play are still unknown, Creative Assembly definitely has a clear idea for the sequel. Now, it’s just a matter of seeing how their vision takes shape.
Released in 2014 for consoles and PC, Alien: Isolation was well-received. The game is set 15 years after the first Alien movie and follows Amanda Ripley as she searches for her mother, Ellen, aboard the Sevastopol station. As you might expect, things quickly go wrong, and Amanda must use all her skills to survive and escape a relentless, nearly unstoppable Xenomorph.
