
The popular manga series Kagurabachi, which first appeared in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine, is getting an anime adaptation, and the creator has finally spoken about it. In recent years, several series in Shonen Jump have gained huge followings, and fans have eagerly awaited anime versions. Kagurabachi, created by Takeru Hokazono, has been at the forefront of this demand, with fans requesting an anime even before the manga’s first chapter was released.
Shueisha has officially announced that Kagurabachi will be adapted into an anime series, premiering next spring. Taihi Kimura, known for his work in Onmyo Kaiten Re:Birth Verse, will star as the main character, Chihiro Rokuhira. Kimura expressed his enthusiasm for the project, promising to give his all to the role in a message to fans.
Chihiro Voice Actor Breaks Silence on Kagurabachi Anime
Taihi Kimura announced they will be the voice of Chihiro Rokuhira! In a statement to fans, Kimura expressed excitement about voicing the main character of the popular series, Kagurabachi. They compared the process of crafting a katana – repeatedly folding steel to achieve strength – to the development of the character. Kimura also shared their thoughts on what makes Chihiro so captivating to fans.
Kimura, who plays Chihiro, described his character as quiet but possessing a strong inner determination, like a steadfast sword. He promised to dedicate himself completely to the role, hoping to capture Chihiro’s unwavering spirit and connect with viewers. Fans aren’t the only ones enthusiastic about the new Kagurabachi anime; the series creator, Takeru Hokazono, also shared a message, even mentioning Naruto as an inspiration.
Kagurabachi Creator Reacts to New Anime

Hokazono started his announcement by referencing the famous fight between Rock Lee and Gaara in Naruto. He praised the manga version, but said the anime adaptation was especially impressive. He then excitedly revealed that the director of that iconic Naruto scene is also directing their new anime! He emphasized the team’s deep understanding of the source material and expressed confidence in a fantastic animation. Finally, he assured fans that the new Kagurabachi anime will be released soon.
The anime Kagurabachi is set to premiere in Japan in April 2027 as part of the spring lineup. Plans for releasing the show outside of Japan haven’t been revealed yet. Tetsuya Takeuchi is directing the anime for Cypic, and Keigo Sasaki is in charge of character design. Kensho Ono will voice the main character, Chihiro, and is currently the only confirmed cast member. With the release only a year away, more details are expected soon.
