Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced Will Have 2 New Scenes, One is a “Top-Five Favorite” – Writer

Although the upcoming remake of Assassin’s Creed Black Flag will largely stay true to the 2013 original, Darby McDevitt, who led the writing on the first game, has announced he’s penned two entirely new scenes for it. McDevitt shared this information on the Access the Animus Discord server, and even called one of the scenes a personal highlight of his work on the game, ranking it among his top five favorites.

I added two new scenes and revised an existing one in the story,” he said. “One of those new scenes has quickly become one of my favorites in Black Flag. I really hope you enjoy it – you might even wonder why it wasn’t there all along! I just came up with the idea for it recently.

Last week, Ubisoft announced Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced, a remake coming to PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S on July 9th. They released two trailers showing off the game and its features. The standard edition will cost $59.99, and a deluxe edition with extra content will be available for $69.99.

The remake features completely redesigned combat and parkour. During fights, players can now dodge or parry attacks perfectly, opening up opportunities for up to four consecutive takedowns with precise timing. The parkour system is inspired by Assassin’s Creed Shadows, offering more ways to move around, including free jumping and quick escapes in any direction.

Paul Fu, the creative director, recently announced that the upcoming remake, Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced, won’t include any of the downloadable content or multiplayer features from the original game. The development team is prioritizing a focused experience on Edward Kenway’s story in the Caribbean. Fu also shared that the game will expand on the modern-day storyline with new scenes exploring Edward’s inner conflicts.

Justin Ng, the producer of Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced, has announced on social media that blood will be included in the main game and won’t be available only as downloadable content. He also responded to fans who commented on the visual effects and sound in the trailers, saying they are working to adjust those elements to be less intense.

We’ve also seen a redesigned version of the game map from Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced, which suggests the overall world will remain largely the same as the original game. However, the map’s scale could be different, potentially making land areas appear bigger than they were in Black Flag.

Here’s a breakdown of the major improvements in Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced, including 15 key changes and a look at the updated graphics.
