You’re going to want to be a goldfish, if only to watch this teaser over and over again.  

The first trailer for the fourth season of Ted Lasso is out now, revealing that the new episodes will start streaming on August 5th. It also gives fans a glimpse of what’s in store when Jason Sudeikis returns as the always-positive Ted to London.

Ted is now coaching a women’s football team in the second division. People in Richmond upon Thames are curious about his return – what do they think?

In a recent preview, a local resident greeted Ted with, “Welcome back, Coach,” but quickly added a dismissive, “It’s a shame you’re coaching a team of girls.”

As the first three seasons of Ted Lasso have shown us, even a small amount of optimism can have a big impact on people and how they think.

The preview also showed a potentially uncomfortable meeting between former couple Keeley Jones (Juno Temple) and Roy Kent (Brett Goldstein), witnessed by Higgins (Jeremy Swift). It also hinted at a new romance for Rebecca (Hannah Waddingham) with the charming Matthijs (Matteo van der Grijn).

Ted is visited by his son, Grant Feely, and his ex-wife, Michelle Anders. He also joins Coach Beard, played by Brendan Hunt, at a performance by Beard’s wife, Jane Payne, portrayed by Phoebe Walsh.

Viewers are getting a first glimpse of the new cast members joining the season. These include Tanya Reynolds, who appears to be one of the new team’s coaches, comedian Tracy Ullman in a currently unknown role, and actors Jude Mack, Faye Marsay, Rex Hayes, Aisling Sharkey, and Abbie Hern.

The season four preview shows more of the popular characters from the Apple TV+ show, but some familiar faces are missing.

As a lifestyle expert, I’m getting the feeling we won’t be seeing a lot of familiar faces back in Richmond for the next season. It looks like most of the guys – Jamie Tartt, Sam Obisanya, Isaac McAdoo, and the incredibly lovable Dani Rojas – are moving on. Plus, it seems like Coach Shelley and Dr. Fieldston won’t be returning, and definitely not Rebecca’s ex, Rupert Mannion. It’s a big shake-up for the team!

We don’t yet know the specific details of what will happen in the fourth season of Ted Lasso, beyond what was shown in the short preview. However, Jason Sudeikis has given some clues about the future for the team’s players and staff.

In a recent statement, an actor from Horrible Bosses hinted that season four of Ted Lasso will see the AFC Richmond team take more chances. He explained that while everyone is used to being cautious, the new season will focus on them ‘leaping before they look,’ and ultimately finding success wherever that leads them.
