Ariana Grande’s Latest Look Will Have Nickelodeon Fans Nostalgic

Ariana Grande’s new hair is like something out of a past life.

The 32-year-old singer shared a photo of herself with a sleek ponytail while practicing in the dance studio, preparing for her upcoming Eternal Sunshine tour. She recently announced her eighth studio album, Petal, will be released on July 31st, and her current hairstyle brought back memories of the iconic high ponytails she favored during her earlier albums, from her first release, Yours Truly, to her hugely successful thank u, next.

Ariana seemed to know exactly what her hairstylist, Alyx Liu, was thinking! She commented, tagging Alyx, “I love this long, low ponytail so much @alyxliu!”

Just in case anyone missed it, Alyx really emphasized her love for Ariana’s long ponytail, writing, “LOVE this long (not high) pony!!!!” Ariana responded with a playful, “gigglllliiiing.”

Ariana Grande often changes her hairstyles. Though she’s famous for her high ponytail, she recently showed off her natural curly hair in a beauty video on March 4th.

Wearing a face mask, she showed everyone what was inside her makeup bag, pointing out that it held over a dozen lip glosses and stains. She explained, ‘I want you to see just how many lip products I carry with me!’

She’s recently changed her hair color and style. After playing Glinda in Wicked for three years, she’s gone back to her natural brunette color, and also embraced her natural curls.

Last October, Ariana shared a mirror selfie showing off her new brown hair and playfully captioned it with a quote from Glinda: “It’s good to see me, isn’t it?”

Ariana Grande has grown to love her natural brown hair, but she shared that her late ex-boyfriend, Mac Miller (born Malcolm McCormack), was the first person to encourage her to embrace it. This happened after she became famous for playing the red-haired Cat Valentine on the show Victorious.

Ariana Grande recently shared on the Hollywood Reporter’s Awards Chatter podcast that a friend, Malcolm – known as Mac – played a big role in helping her be true to herself. She explained that he encouraged her to move away from the image she’d created and embrace who she really was, including her natural brown hair, and to pursue the R&B-influenced pop music she loved, even if it meant taking a risk.
