Ed Sheeran is thinking out loud about his new haircut. 

Ed Sheeran, known for his song “Thinking Out Loud,” shared that he cut off his long hair to symbolize a fresh start.

Ed recently shaved his head, sharing a photo on Instagram on April 28th. He explained that the haircut was meant to symbolize a fresh start, as he’s experiencing a lot of new beginnings in his life right now.

“I Iove it,” he added, “thinking of keeping it this way.”

In a natural, unposed photo, 35-year-old Ed Sheeran glances down, showing off his fresh haircut. He’s wearing a simple white t-shirt and black sweatpants, and offered a small, shy smile while casually resting a hand behind his head.

In addition to his new look, the singer-songwriter also revealed he privately battled Shingles.

He shared that he’s been dealing with shingles for the past month, describing it as an unpleasant experience, but thankfully he’s starting to recover.

The Grammy-winning singer has been changing things up lately, starting with a new hairstyle. He also recently shared the reason behind his 30-pound weight loss. Ed and his wife, Cherry Seaborn, are parents to two daughters, 5-year-old Lyra and 3-year-old Jupiter.

Ed recently became a father. He shared with Men’s Health UK that when his daughter, Lyra, was just two weeks old, he was enjoying a bottle of wine with a friend when she woke up shortly after he’d gone to bed.

“I was like, ‘F–k, I probably shouldn’t drink if I’m going to feel this dreadful,’” he recalled. “‘I want to be able to do the night stuff.’”

He also wanted to be able to keep up with his little ones.

“I didn’t want to pick my kid up,” he explained, “and have my back f–ked and stuff like that.”

He also felt ready for a fresh start in his life. He explained that he wanted to be a good father and prioritize his health and well-being, and these desires all converged at once.

To get in shape, the singer, known as “Perfect,” shared that he’s been running, lifting weights, and doing reformer Pilates.

And the results have been far more rewarding than just the physical payoff.

He believes that your physical wellness is closely linked to your mental and emotional state. He described struggling with how he felt internally, saying he often woke up feeling unpleasant and disliked what he saw in the mirror.

I still enjoy life and even have a drink now and then,” he explained. “I particularly love a good glass of red wine and a delicious meal, but I don’t indulge every day.
