A popular dark fantasy anime is returning to Crunchyroll this summer, and a new trailer and poster have just been released. With many highly anticipated anime already streaming on Crunchyroll this spring, fans have even more to look forward to. The upcoming summer season is shaping up to be particularly exciting, with both returning favorites and new series on the way.
The anime series based on Yuji Iwahara’s Clevatess, which premiered last year, was a huge success. So, it’s no surprise that a second season is coming this July! When Does Clevatess Season 2 Come Out?
I’m so excited to share that Clevatess Season 2 is officially planned for July 2026 as part of the summer anime lineup! While we don’t have an exact date just yet, it’s happening! The best part? Crunchyroll will be streaming the new episodes alongside their release in Japan, so we’ll all be able to watch it at the same time. And if you need a refresher, you can catch up on Season 1 right there on Crunchyroll too. Plus, the whole team – the director, Kiyotaka Taguchi, and the original voice actors – are all returning, working again with Lay-duce! It’s going to be amazing!
Keigo Koyonagi is writing the scripts for the new series, while Souichirou Sako is designing the characters. Nobuaki Nobusawa will once again compose the music. Several original voice actors are returning, including Haruka Shiraishi as Alicia, Mutsumi Tamura as Clen, Yuichi Nakamura as Clevatess, and Saya Aizawa as Luna. Joining the cast are Shuichiro Umeda as Ray, Yurina Kikuchi as Mary, Tatsumaru Tachibana as Andrew, Ryota Suzuki as Tigel, Hiromu Mineta as Leon, and Misaki Kuno, Koutaro Nishiyama, Akira Sekine, and Shiro Sano, who will play roles yet to be announced.
What’s the Deal With Clevatess?
Last year, Clevatess emerged as a captivating and unexpectedly dark fantasy action series. It began with a grim scene – the complete defeat of a hero team by an incredibly powerful entity – and quickly introduced a complex world filled with a larger, hidden conspiracy. This powerful being, Clevatess, is contemplating the destruction of all life, but instead chooses to groom a young prince to become the next king while he decides.
The show has taken an intriguing turn, balancing exciting action and a developing world with the tragic story of Alicia, a hero killed off early on who now serves as an immortal zombie warrior under Clevatess. It will be interesting to see where the story goes when it continues this summer.
