The fourteenth season of “King of the Hill” is set to debut on August 4th, with all ten episodes becoming available simultaneously on Hulu. Despite some uncertainty about the Hill family’s return to Arlen, Texas, there has been much speculation regarding who will fill Hank’s role during his absence. Judging by the promotional materials for the upcoming animated series, it appears that a new character, named “Brian Robertson,” has taken over Hank’s position while he was away. The identity of the actor portraying Brian has recently been unveiled, and fans of animation will undoubtedly recognize this talented individual.
According to IndieWire, Keith David has been cast as Brian Robertson, set to replace Hank in the show. Robertson was previously renting the Hill family’s house while Hank and Peggy were in Saudi Arabia, easily integrating with Dale, Boomhauer, and Bill. In addition, actor Anthony “Citric” Campos has been confirmed for the role of Emilio, a new character who will work alongside Bobby at his new job as a chef in a Dallas restaurant. As many original characters return, it appears that the Hulu revival is brimming with fresh faces too.
The Legend of Keith David
As an ardent admirer, I’ve always been in awe of Keith David’s extraordinary voice acting prowess throughout his illustrious career in the entertainment realm. He’s lent his magical voice to iconic characters like Gargoyles’ Goliath, Spawn, Darkseid, Hordak from Masters of The Universe: Revelation, Dr. Facilier in The Princess And The Frog, and countless others that are hard to count. Most recently, David has breathed life into the character Husk in the sensational series The Hazbin Hotel. With San Diego Comic-Con announcing that the long-awaited second season will land on Amazon Prime Video this October, it seems like David has a jam-packed schedule for the remainder of 2025.
In the upcoming King of the Hill revival, there’s not much information available about the new character portrayed by Keith David – his traits, history, or expected role. With Hank and Peggy having been away due to Hank’s job in the Middle East for quite some time, Brian Robertson has managed to establish himself in Arlen during this absence. It will be intriguing to discover how Keith David’s character fits into the revival now that the Hills are back home in town.
The revival of King of the Hill has been set for ten episodes so far, but fans are optimistic about more. Though not officially confirmed yet, hints from voice actors suggest a potential fifteenth season might be on the way. Here’s hoping Hulu announces that the future holds even brighter days for the Hills!
