Bitcoin’s Secret Sauce? MicroStrategy’s STRC Shenanigans!

Bitcoin (BTC) has been more resilient than my ex’s excuses for not paying the rent.

According to Bitwise CIO Matt Hougan, the real MVP here isn’t geopolitics-it’s MicroStrategy’s relentless Bitcoin buying. Like a toddler in a candy store, they’ve just dropped $7.2 billion on BTC in eight weeks. Wow, who needs fiscal responsibility?

MicroStrategy’s STRC Shares Are the Real Engine Behind Bitcoin’s Rally

In a memo that reads like a rom-com where the lead finally gets their groove back, Hougan admitted Bitcoin’s climb has been fueled by ETFs and long-term holders. But let’s be real: MicroStrategy is the main character. They’ve bought so much BTC, it’s like they’re trying to hoard the entire blockchain. Plot twist: They’re just collecting Legos without a box.

“Bitcoin is up 20% from its February lows, trading around $76,000. Everyone’s wondering if this can last. Spoiler: It probably won’t. But until then, STRC is the party’s life insurance policy,” said Hougan, who clearly hasn’t seen a market crash in his life.

MicroStrategy now holds 818,334 BTC. At this rate, they’ll hit a million coins faster than I hit the fridge after a breakup. Galaxy Research’s Alex Thorn even thinks they’ll surpass Satoshi Nakamoto’s stash by 2028. Plot twist: Satoshi was just a librarian.

Why Bitwise CIO Thinks Strategy’s STRC Buying Is Far From Over

Hougan claims MicroStrategy is funding their Bitcoin binge by selling STRC. For context, STRC has funded 10x more BTC buying than the entire US ETF market in 2026. Translation: They’re the financial TikTok trend you didn’t ask for.

“The number I’d watch is Strategy’s total obligations as a percentage of its bitcoin holdings. Today, that’s 33%. If it hits 50%, investors will panic. But at today’s prices, there’s still room for another $10-$15 billion in STRC. And more if Bitcoin rallies.”

Hougan’s basically saying, “Don’t worry, we’ve got this!” while juggling chainsaws. Meanwhile, economist Peter Schiff is like, “This is a death spiral!” Translation: He’s right. But who listens to economists? They’re always late to the party.
